Overview & Reviews
Toyota's car-based Highlander SUV receives no changes this year.
- Roomy interior, car-like ride and handling, spunky V6 engine.
- Rear seat is uncomfortably low, no third-row seat, limited towing and off-road abilities.

A great Utility vehicle - 2002 Toyota Highlander
By amukunda - September 20 - 2:00 amA really good blend of truck, car and minivan. Best suited for on-road use as a family hauler.

Six Month Experience - 2002 Toyota Highlander
By Ron - August 8 - 2:00 amComfortable ride and driving experience. Really a car with SUV capabilites for bad weather and road conditions. Like the high ride with car feel. Would not reccommend for real off-road activites. has very nice cargo capacity for a SUV of its size. I really like the tight feel of the car and Toyota dependability.

One year latter - 2002 Toyota Highlander
By Paul DeBoni - June 16 - 10:00 amTypical Toyota product. You can spend thousands more and not get better fit, finish and dependability. The only reason it wasnt rated any higher is that it is still an SUV and cant compare in shear joy of driving with a sport sedan or sports car. For an SUV it comes as close as any Ive dirven. Handles as if it were much smaller and lighter. The only preceived weakness is in numb steering feed back, and the crapy tires that come with it.

2002 Highlander Review - 2002 Toyota Highlander
By Jerry - February 2 - 2:00 amWe purchased the Highlander 6 years ago after much research. We moved to the city so this is our only car which does it all. It was an excellent buy and have not had a major problem, worst thing to happen was heater switch had to be repaired for $350. Highly recommend. We have a 2WD V6 which we both feel handles great and gets 20MPG in city and 24 on road with 87 octane. Drives just like a car. We buy cars that last and drive them till they die. Our next car will be a Hybrid Highlander but it may be a while before this one quits!
