  • Not REAALLLY an SUV - 2003 Toyota Highlander

Ive been looking for a larger safer car and settled on the Highlander. I had a crisis of conscience about buying an SUV, but when I drove the 4 cylinder and realized that it was plenty zippy, I got over it. I get mileage comparable to my ford focus SE wagon that the Highlander is replacing, and I feel much safer. It is the best looking car I have ever owned, even better than the pictures.

When I went in to the dealership, I wanted a bigger SUV like the 4-Runner. I was trading in an X-Terra. I couldnt afford the 4-Runner so I test drove a Highlander with a few extras and drove it home. I was very pleased with the difference between this suv and the x- terra. It was wonderful being in a quiet smooth ride.

I recently bought a 2003 Highlander Limited edition and I can honestly say it is a Lexus with a Toyota badge. What a satisfying experience it is to drive this machine. Just Awesome. Jim

  • BEST SUV Ive ever owned!! - 2003 Toyota Highlander

My last 2 SUVS were Jeep Grand Cherokees. I never thought Id drive anything else. A friend recommended the Toyota Highlander and I went for a test drive. Not only did it drive MUCH better than the Jeep, the interior was more attractive, the seats folded down much easier and the price was WELL below that of Jeep Grand Cherokee. I also cant say enough about Toyota of Westport. They were incredible..helpful, knowledgeable and extremely consumer friendly. I LOVE my Highlander and I am delighted with its performance.

  • Best vehicle to buy - 2003 Toyota Highlander

We are very satisfied with the Highlander. The customers reviews on Edmunds were very valuable. The issue concerning thumping wind noise when either single or both windows open was true. Maybe they designed it this way to discourage passengers from opening the rear windows when the vehicle is moving. Also the radio on the model that we purchased didnt have the best sound, another point that one of the customers mentioned. The ride, power, gas mileage and build in this vehicle are best in the market.

  • Highlanders a Winner! - 2003 Toyota Highlander

This is a VERY comfortable car to drive. I am 64" and I find the drivers seat to be the most comfortable in any vehicle in its class. I drive over 80 miles per day, and the Highlander makes the drive very enjoyable. The 4 cylinder engine is a great cruising engine and it is economical. Highly recommend the Highlander to prospective buyers.

  • great value - 2003 Toyota Highlander

after weeks of research comparing mid size suvs, I chose the highlander, hands down, as the best value in its class. I purchased the 4X2 V6, The cars ride is fantastic and the V6 provides plenty of power. (the V4 is no slouch, but I found that there was a bit more engine noise when acclerating) At a base price of less than $23K, I got mine with options - for very close to invoice. Do your research and get quotes online - will save you alot of time. I also looked at honda pilot but the dealer was not willing to deal. The Pilot will cost you $3K more than a highlander with the same features. The highlander is a great car and the best bang for your buck!
