For 2004, a larger 3.3-liter V6 replaces the 3.0-liter engine, resulting in 10 extra horsepower for a total of 230. Additionally, a fold-flat third-row seat (for two passengers) is now optional on base models and standard on the Limited. To keep the extra passengers content in back, a rear DVD entertainment system is available on Limited models. On the safety front, all Highlanders now come with an electronic stability control system and a tire-pressure warning system, while side curtain airbags for the first and second rows are optional across the board. Rounding out the changes are freshened exterior styling, new seat fabric, new instrument and door panel trim and a 5-hp boost for the base four-cylinder engine (now rated at 160).

  I have owned the Highlander for only two weeks, I couldnt be more pleased! Since 1980 I have owned Volvos, this car is heavier and far better to handle. I purchased with it concern for traveling during snowy weather.

  i love my suv it is the perfect size, pluse it will seat 7. it is really the perfect suv for a woman great style and it is easy to handle.

  Only have this vehicle a week. First impressions are great. Quality is top notch. Easy to drive, sits high but very easy to get into. Very quiet on the road. Feels tight and corners flat. Engine is too new to get on it, but you can feel the power is there.Braking is typical Toyota. No unusual surprises. Just a very good vehicle.

  This is one of a car. I tested before the Pilot and I found the interior to be rather unattractive. In Highlander you feel good, the engine has confidence, controls are well designed, the finishes are perfect and you have the feeling of being in a very refined wagon.

  I just picked up my Highlander today. I traded in a 1999 4Runner with high mileage. So far, so good. I really had my heart set on another 4Runner, but, I really enjoyed the test drive. Its got great pickup a smooth ride and great handling. Im going to ease into it adjusting for the 4Runner- but Im sure it will be a breeze

  well toyota make very + good vehicles.i had six of them 86/cressads/96landcruis/98cruis/01 rav4/01highlander/now 04 ighlander i love the 04 great suv.the only thing on the 04 the gas burn like a v8.i dont know if the tank hold less gas than the 01 but it burn gas.

  This is the best family car we have owned. There is alot of room and very comfortable. The fuel efficiency is great. Best of all I love the third row seating. Overall, this vehicle is outstanding and fun to drive.

  Having never owned a Toyota we were expecting quality and refinement and the Highlander delivers. It replaced a 97 Volvo wagon and there is no comparision.
