  We have only had the Highlander for one week and have driven about 450 miles. This SUV is very smooth and quiet; very little wind noise and low levels of road noise even on concrete pavement. It handles very well with its tight turning radius and is easy to maneuver in a parking lot. Front seat comfort is excellent with the optional 8-way power seat. We traded in a 99 RAV 4 for the Highlander; there is no comparison between these two SUVs. So far, we could not be more pleased with this purchase

  Reliable - 2002 Toyota Highlander

  This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. In its 106K miles and counting, Ive never had to do a single mechanical repair on it. Just brakes and tires! Its fully loaded and has all the bells and whistles I need. Drives smoothly, corners well and has plenty of cargo room. Its comfortable too. I miss my arm rest when I drive my husbands car or a rental.

  The Highlander is very easy to drive (not as easy as compact SUVs such as CRVs) considering its size. It is a lot easier to drive than a 4Runner or an Excursion. The steering is light enough so the car doesnt feel heavy. And there is not an overall sense of "bulkiness" when changing lanes, backing up, etc... The 4 Cyl. 2WD only feels slightly less powerful than the SR5 V6 4Runner. But, you should test drive both, back to back, before you decide if the 4 cyl. Highlander is powerful enough. I would not recommend getting the 4WD option with the 4 cyl. Highlander. It would weigh down the vehicle dramatically causing it to feel a tad sluggish.

  I bought the Highlander after totalling a minivan in a rollover accident. This is the second Toyota product I have owned and am always pleased with the engineering and quality of construction of the Toyota line. The Highlander is no exception. It rides like a dream with the visibility I was accustomed to in the minivan but without the mommobile stigma my teens objected to. I did lots of research before choosing another vehicle and the safety of the Highlander was of great importance. So far so good...

  I have owned this for 1 year now and am pleasantly surprised what a delight it is to own. This is my 3rd Toyota and I am just in love with this company. Their cars are far superior to all others Ive owned... Chrysler, GM, Ford... none of them compare to the quality of Toyota. I was happy with the 4 cylinder over the 6, because the difference in power was not very great, and I was able to use the money I saved on upgrades like leather and sunroof - aftermarket ofcourse. I get loads of looks and questions from all kinds of people about this car. They are all surprised at how little I paid for it. $27000 new with everything. Highly Recommended.

  Outstanding after nearly 3 years, not even a blip. Smooth, fast and quiet. The hybrid is coming out next month (June 05) which will put Highlander in a league of its own.

  The more I drive this vehicle the more I like it. It took a little getting used to, since I drive 3 other vehicles. Overall Im fully satisfied with my choice of getting the Highlander.

  I will have had my highlander for 2 years come January and I still love driving it. It drives just like a car and not a truck.
