Me and My Highlander - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By Judy Heck - September 26 - 10:00 amMy experience over the past year has been excellent. One of the first snow storms I was in happened in NY State where I found myself in 3 feet of snow. The car handled flawlessly. I had just traded in my Lexus LS400 two months before and am sure glad I was in the Highlander!

Awesome - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By Moddie - August 31 - 2:00 amIn the short term Ive had the truck, I absolutley love it! Powerful, effortless driving. Im driving the Limited, so alot of extra comfort is there, that is not available on the Pilot! Westchester Toyota, simply put, incredible! The salesman, manager and all involved, have made buying this vehicle a true pleasure! They have gone way out of their way for me, Thanks!

so long BMW X-5 Hello Highlander - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By pb - August 25 - 10:00 amBought Limited edition for my wife and traded in her 2001 BMW X-5 (poor reliability). Test drove XC90 Volvo, Honda Pilot, Acura MDX and Lexus RX330. We both agreed that the Highlander won hands down. Didnt like new drivetrain, 5 speed auto, of Lexus; could feel down shifting and slight whine on deceleration; too lond a wait for Pilot; MDX and XC90 to pricey vs. Highlander.

Love It! - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By J Kelley - July 18 - 9:00 pmI drove a Lexus RX300 previously (company car) but was unwilling to pay the Lexus price when it came time to buy. This car is built on the same platform. It rides and handles like a car, not a truck. The only thing missing when compared to the Lexus is the "luxury" look of the interior. I have only two minor complaints with the vehicle: 1. the lifters (fuel injectors) make noise which is not noticeable when driving/idling unless it is completely quiet in the car (no talking, music, etc.) It is not noticeable to most people but was not present til after break-in period; 2. the paint on bumper & hood chips easily from normal road dirt.

Disappointed - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By herbertspoof - July 10 - 6:45 pmPurchased used 5 years ago with 86,000. Didnt flinch at the mileage due to Toyotas reputation for reliability; car drove well, at first. Sold at 109,000 due to expensive repair and maintainence costs including: All 4 wheel bearings, $500 a pop. Breaks completely replaced, some more than once. $2,000 spent on breaks in just 2 years. Evaporator sensor went bad; $400 just for the part. Muffler developed a small hole; $400 for a new one. Straw that broke the camels back: drive shaft developed a wobble and needed complete replacement $1,200. Cut my losses and unloaded the hunk of junk. Other car was a 20 year old Subaru Legacy that had fewer problems and was cheaper to maintain.

lovin it - 2003 Toyota Highlander
By ashleyc - May 14 - 2:00 amMy parents bought me this car before I went to college. We wanted a car that i would be safe traveling long distances in, something that wasnt too bulky, and something that i could still fit all of my stuff in. The highlander was perfect. Other cars I considered were Nissan Altima, Nissan Xterra, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Saturn Vue. But, the highlander satisfied everything that we wanted.
