Premature strut & brake wear - 2007 Toyota Camry
By BLACKDOG - May 4 - 11:03 am40800 miles Camry LE 4cyl 5A has been awesome. Just had tires rotated, all four struts leaking significantly and rear brake pads down to 2mm. All struts and rear brakes need replacement. Something is wrong, 4 struts go all at once, at 40000 miles and rear brakes shot? Front brakes usually are replaced twice before rears. Called Toyota Experience, very nice but said it was my problem, out of warranty. Should I question Toyota longevity and unwillingness to stand behind their product??? Toyota is aware of premature rear brake wear and leaking struts. They have issued TSBs. Right not I am not sure if I will go back to Honda.

Great Car ! Great Value! - 2007 Toyota Camry
By Richard Gutkowski - April 14 - 1:06 pmWell I have the car now for 24 hours it is really hot got lots of compliments on the car. V-6 very powerful and pretty nimble. The only real bad thing about this new camry is the radio and its controls they got cheap dont look like it belongs in the car!!! Aside from that sound quality is great and push to start is great! The only feature I dont have is navigation!

By bz13 - April 5 - 9:03 pmSure my Toyota looks nice and is comfortable to ride in. My 2007 Camry has 78k miles on it so its safe to say I drive it A LOT. Heres the problem things shake loose. The drivers side visor fell off, the curtain side airbag panel falls off constantly, the recalls galore and now today, the lock for the glove compartment fell off. This was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Im selling it at a loss and buying a new car. One that holds up.

By redrobert - March 28 - 5:16 pmThis is an outstanding car and excellent experience in my first Toyota. My XLE 2007 is both responsive and quick to a fault. The dealer told me I should buy the 4 but I wanted the V6. The V6 was too much power, but with the gas mileage difference of less than 2 MPG. So far so good. I do recommend this car!!

Nice Car - 2007 Toyota Camry
By mscs - March 23 - 8:30 pmThe 07 Camry is a great car for the money. The interior is large, the controls are well placed and simple. The ride is quiet and comfortable. This is not the fastest car on the road if you are looking for 0-60, but it accelerates just fine. I have the 4 cylinder with manual transmission. My car was built in Kentucky with 75% North American part content. I have had zero issues, except the hesitation when accelerating that everyone is complaining about. This is easy to fix - I took mine to the dealer, and 35 minutes later, it was fixed. It is just a simple engine control computer reprogramming.

The only problem I had its that at 70k miles started burning oil a lot, I brough the car to service dep and they told me that is a had gusket, and they fixed cause was under warranty, but the car still burned oil as much as the beginning. I brough back to Toyota and they were saying that the car is to old thats y is burning this much oil. I stop dealing with Toyota service dep. My camry now has 190k still runs good, it doesnt have the same pick up as it used to but still runs good. At 7 years I have changed tires twice, 2 batteries, struts once, a radiator, a lot of adding oil, and oil changes every 5k miles. my new car would be a camry again

Continuing problems - 2007 Toyota Camry
By rjloblaw - March 10 - 9:20 amAcceleration is adequate, but torque is all but absent! Too much weight for the old four cylinder engine. The transmission/computer is a major issue. Unexpected downshifting on pimple sized grades when in cruise, upshifting when decelerating, peculiar hold back sensations when at low speeds are among the problems experienced by me and, obviously, others. Poor mileage is yet another factor as is the numerous blind spots resulting from the appearance over proper design issues. Dealers do not handle the transmission matters well as Ive had no luck in clearing up the inadequacies. Is Toyota losing control as they grow in size or is their arrogance the major problem? My first & last Camry!

Update after 6 months - 2007 Toyota Camry
By Marya - March 3 - 8:13 amI first posted on Nov. 5 and was lukewarm on the car. Since then Ive gotten used to it and feel better about it. Ive adjusted my driving to deal with the acceleration hesitation, altho I see now there is a fix for it. But I do want to say it performs really well in bad weather, of which there is plenty in NYS. Its much more stable than my 1996 Explorer on snow, in freezing rain, slush, even ice, and so far I havent had any repair issues (fingers crossed).

By HUDSON TANNIS - March 2 - 3:50 pmI have the 2007 SE 2.4 with stability control, bluetooth and the upgraded JBL system. First let me say that the engine performance of my car relates directly to the brand of gas used, not all gasoline is created equal. The engine and transmission works flawlessly when a particular brand (not grade) of fuel is used and I am absolutely sure I am correct. The other features of this car especially the JBL system are winners. The car is a winner.
