This vehicle replaced a 1992 Olds Cutlass, which was like going from a Volkswagen Beetle (older type) to a Porsche 928. The performance of this vehicle has been surprising considering its size and weight. As for fun-to- drive, the car will get you into trouble with law enforcement very quickly, so pay attention to the speedometer, as 100+ mph is no strain at all for this car. The ride quality is as good as your living room couch...functional, but responsive when needed. Long trips are easily handled with little or no fatigue.

  • Camry SE - A great car! - 2003 Toyota Camry

After driving a 86 Nova (Carrola really) and a 88 Camry my new Camry is a dream come true. I get many good comments on how good the car looks, black with upgraded Enkei rims. It drives very nice but I did add a K&N air filter and still plan to do a few more things to increase the horsepower. Only problems have the process buying the car with the dealership, a repeating nightmare of ineptness. Also, the transmission had to be completely rebuilt after the first two days because it would slip out of gear. We love the car though.

this is my familys 3rd camry, still owning the 1st 2, and one lexus suv, all runs great. This SE has soft clutch, soft steering, soft ride, just a little stiffer than normal, good corning, fun to drive, spacious interier and trunk, feels quicker acceleration than my v6 auto. the only thing i dont like is the radio control volume button is all the way at the top of the center dash, kinda hard to reach while you sitting back and driving.

I will continue with Toyota Camrys until they let me down. I turned in my old reliable 87 Camry for the new 03 and am so far very pleased. It was tough saying good bye to old betsy, but wow, the camry has come a long way in the last 16 years! I can just pray that I got a good one and that it lasts 16 years like my last one. The main advantage I will say is the 3 3 point seat belts across the back seats. That, with the crash test results are great for a guy who carts around his three girls. Also, very roomy interior allows me to get two car seats and another older child very comfortably in the back with room to spare.

  • piece of junk - 2003 Toyota Camry

Shift from 1st to 2nd gear floats; shift from 2nd to 3rd gear is a hard double jerk. Just maintaining speed at 1200-1400 rpm and just over 40 mph, engine/transmission pulsates as though transmission cant figure out what to do. Toyota wont fix transmission; they say hard shift is a characteristic, not a fault. Cant hear stereo at highway speeds due to road noise. Seats uncomfortable after 30 minutes, no thigh support. Cant see out the rear window. Lower part of rear fenders loose and will move 1/4 inch. $30,000 piece of junk. Trade-in value of 7 month old car is only 60% of new car price.

Was not a big Toyota fan but this car is made very well. My car has every available option, including the DVD Navigation system. I love it!!

The computer chips in the Camry seem to be hard for the dealer to diagnose. My Camry has been in the shop for 45 days in the six months I have owned it. Toyota at both the dealership and regional level treats you like you are public enemy number 1 for daring to have a problem with their car. The biggest mistake of my consumer career has been the purchase of my second Toyota.

When I purchased this car back in 2006, I was looking at the Lexus ES300/ES330. I ran across my 03 XLE V6 with every option but nav and it included 4 addtional airbags! The V6 has decent power but the throttle response is my only real complaint. The throttle by wire system is severely lacking when it comes to reponding to my needs. If you can drive around the 2 second lag, you can plan to be a happy, comfortable owner. The interior is quiet and well designed. I thought it was quiet until I added new Micehlin Primacy tires and it is so quiet now that the loudest thing in the cabin is the V6 singing away under acceleration. I love my Camry, styling and comfort of an ES, sans $$$.
