Overview & Reviews
Two new audio systems are available and both include three-in-one ETR/cassette/CD features. Also available are daytime running lights with auto-off. Vintage Red Pearl, Sable Pearl and Woodland Pearl replace Sunfire Red Pearl, Ruby Red and Classic Green Pearl.
- When it comes to people moving, the Camry gets the job done with dependability.
- The suspension is a bit wallowy for our tastes and the new Accord offers more interior space.

Toyota Camry: Luxurious. Boring. - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Chill Will - November 10 - 10:00 amThe good: stiff chassis, roomy interior, high-quality materials, 60/40 split foldong rear seat, and well- finished trunk. The bad: boring design, wallowy handling, numb steering.

REVIEW - 1999 Toyota Camry
By steve - October 13 - 10:00 amOverrated. Molding and interior is separating from vehicle. 4 cyl is not adequate for a vehicle of this size.

Good Car - 1999 Toyota Camry
By thebelltolls - September 2 - 2:00 amThis is a fine car for most everyday commuting and long distance travel. Have had no problems with it since we bought it new. Had a small problem at first with the speedometer lens developing a crazing. Gas mileage could be better in city driving. Handles very well in snow and ABS is great in icy conditions. Console layout is not the best and would prefer a column shift. Roomy though.

Car is outstanding, seats are awful. - 1999 Toyota Camry
By derbarkasmann - June 25 - 10:53 amSuperb quality, everything in the interior is where it should be and works very easily, adequate power (4 cyl), but the seats ... did anybody actually sit in one for several hours before finalizing the seat design? I love the car but will never take it on a long trip because of the seat.

Did any one had problem with brakes? - 1999 Toyota Camry
By babar - June 7 - 10:00 amOvel all its a very nice car and I am very happy with it. Its fun to drive and quite roomy. I have had noticed that if it goes over a bump and you apply the brakes at the time, they just dont work like for a second or two. I am not sure if this is true with all the 1999 Camary LE models or its just my car.

Real World, Real Car - 1999 Toyota Camry
By accesstoo - May 18 - 8:10 amAfter all the hype about this car and that, all cars smell, drive, look, and act similarly after a few years. That being said, I can tell you without reservation, this has been one fine car. I now have 61,000 miles on this car. I drive it daily in Atlanta traffic. This car has and continues to deliver everything you come to expect in a Toyota. I have only replaced the Front Brakes. I cant seem to wear the rears out, replaced the tires, and use synthetic oil with every oil change. Score? Perfect. It has never broken down. It has a better AC than Honda and is roomier. It wont turn heads but you wont call for a tow either. Next time, buy a 4-cyl Camry. Its my 2nd.

Toyota Lover for Life! - 1999 Toyota Camry
By DRECHYX83 - May 10 - 2:30 amI bought this road marvel as a replacement for a 2005 Kia Spectra EX, that had a host of problems on it. I have loved this car ever since I bought it. It gives me great gas mileage & the engine runs so smooth and quiet that you cannot even hear it when stopped for traffic. It had a smooth-drive suspension system before they got all worn out. Today, there is a problem with my tyres that gives me less than 30 mpg overall. I used to get an average of 33 mpg (combined mileage) but these days even 25 mpg is a miracle! I was advised that there is something wrong with my tyres, alignment, balancing or something like that and once I get it fixed, its gonna b okay!

Bland, and almost great - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Vinman2u - April 1 - 2:00 amHad it since new. Style, compared to the new camry or older Accords is too plain. Engine/Trans doing fine at 87000, but Struts have been making strange noises since 25K, and brakes are always squeaking. Interior plastic is warping, but cloth is fine.

I am the original owner - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Rob Aeron - February 20 - 4:19 amI bought my 1999 Camry V6 manual transmission brand new and enjoyed very much the car. Good performance, reliability, and gas miles. Last year, I changed the clutch. With 102K original miles, I am doing minor body work, new alloy rims, replacing wood trim in dashboard and installing a trunk spoiler. I am planning to keep my car unless someone gives me an offer that I cant refuse.

Best Camry Style - 1999 Toyota Camry
By 1989 Mark 7 - December 12 - 9:36 amI bought this 100% brand new. Had just came off the delivery truck the day before. With 60,000 miles on it today I still believe its showroom new as it was on 2-16-1999. I drive it on long trips because of its comfort. Thats only time I do drive it.
