This Year's Model Updates:

Toyota's perennially best-selling family sedan gets a complete makeover for 2007. Among the highlights are a roomier interior, additional luxury-oriented features, an available 268-hp V6 coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission, and a gasoline-electric hybrid model that earns EPA fuel economy estimates of 43 mpg city/37 mpg highway.

Pros:
  • Roomy cabin, powerful V6 engine, hybrid model available, legendary build quality and reliability history.
Cons:
  • No manual transmission available with V6, some odd styling elements.

Love the car. The only thing I hate is the shifting performance of the A/T. It feels like the car is in neutral or stay on the same gear when power is required and you have to press the accelerator harder such that the car jerks when the gear is engaged.

Real good car. Great fuel economy. The orginal tires will only get 20K miles. Be careful putting in a carseat with a top strap. It you put it in like toyota tells you you may wind up with a permanent strap indentation on your rear headrest. The thing that is missing is the rear DOES NOT FOLD down on the SE model. I know it is for the sport tuning in the suspension, but I need more versitality in my cars. I should have bought the LE with the styling kit.

  • love Camrys but, this one disappoints - 2007 Toyota Camry

I like the new body design mostly. Only traded my 2002 Camry because of new body style. I never really test-drove the 07 much before purchase. Though I would probably still get a 2007, I am somewhat disappointed in Toyota on this one. Gas mileage is lower than my 02. Auto-tranny is not smooth in shifting. Initial acceleration performance is lacking; has hesitation while shifting through about 35 mph. Due to lack-of-power or transmission problem, car down-shifts (revs to 3000+ rpm ) with cruise control going up very slight incline (i.e. frwy overpass); then annoying up-shift jolt well after cresting incline.

Great car over all. I have 4 cyl with manual transmission - lack of power but great fuel economy.

LE w/ 4 cylinder is equipped with adequate power plant. Handling and cornering slightly improved from 2003-6 model. Transmission shifting (hunting for a right gear) not much improved - especially on even small incline. With my 6 it is no way to get acceptable visibility looking backward, and what is worse than 2003-6 models, I cant see front of the sedan too. So parking in busy places may be tricky. In my feeling driver was stripped from elbow space due to oversized center storage compartment. I am not to impressed with all the controls made of cheap plastic formed in unattractive way. Trunk space is noticeably smaller too.

  • No Power - 2007 Toyota Camry

Something has to be done about the acceleration,(looking to get rid of it) You can floor the gas pedal and it takes a while to kick in Ive had people right up to my rear end in a matter of seconds because it takes too long to get up to high speeds on major highways

  • Diminished reputation - 2007 Toyota Camry

Im 62 and the 2007 Camry was my first foreign made. Im soooo disappointed with the Camry. The automatic tranmission hesitates. From a stop or at about 5 MPH, if you depress the gas pedal too quickly the car will not accelerate properly for 1-3 seconds - then its ok. Called dealer and complained. They said no problem, its just a driving characteristic I have to get used to. Ill add its dangerous. This is the garbage Ive gotten from US dealers. Toyota, Im terribly disappointed and cant recommend this car. Toyota do the right thing fix the problem uner warranty.

  • Smaller cargo - 2007 Toyota Camry

Good car, its my third Camry. But back seat is not folding anymore and trunk is smaller.

  • Good Family Car - 2007 Toyota Camry
    By -

This is a good family car. It is quiet, i.e. both road noise and wind noise are low. The V6 engine is smooth and low noise also. The transmission is excellent, shifts smoothly and accurately. Drive is soft and comfortable. This car cannot be really called fun to drive though because it leans quite a bit and is not very composed while cornering (even moderately hard), I guess it is the price you pay for a smooth ride. Design interior and exterior are pretty good, simple and ergonomic. I am bit disappointed in the build quality given Toyotas reputation. I can hear a few rattles and squeaks at high speeds. Safety features are outstanding though as it should be for a family car.
