Overview & Reviews
Two new audio systems are available and both include three-in-one ETR/cassette/CD features. Also available are daytime running lights with auto-off. Vintage Red Pearl, Sable Pearl and Woodland Pearl replace Sunfire Red Pearl, Ruby Red and Classic Green Pearl.
- When it comes to people moving, the Camry gets the job done with dependability.
- The suspension is a bit wallowy for our tastes and the new Accord offers more interior space.

By Dasha - December 9 - 12:03 pmI bought the car in 1999. It was new. Since then I just once changed brakes and two times the battery, of course tires. Thats it! I love my car. Ill give it to my daughter when she gets her driver license in October and feel shes in a good "hands".

A Camry or a Lexus? - 1999 Toyota Camry
By dc_sports_rule - December 4 - 10:00 amI have been very impressed with the purchase of my Camry LE back in June of 1999. The car is 4 years old today and rides just like the day I picked it up four years ago. The OEM General Tires were replaced by Toyota within the first two months of ownership. The General Tires were defective and replaced with Michelin XW4s. The car is very quiet on the road and the reliability has been flawless.

Still running strong despite ME! - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Portly Pete - August 27 - 12:23 pmI have really enjoyed this car. Nice blend of qualities rather than strong in one area. Performs great, looks fine, comfortable. The V6 has enough power to be fun but it cant beat a Ferrari! Well, I did once probably because my friends and I just scared the dude! LOL!

Not to die for - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Vern - August 15 - 5:30 pmI loved my beat up old ride . 100k It never let me down . I bought it with dents on all sides, front & back . Mechanically it worked well .tranny & engine are well matched . I lent it to My son the 2nd time he had ever driven it & had a head on collision with it .Didnt understand front wheel drive vs rear wheel technology . Its a paperweight now but no one was hurt Thank God . All the doors still shut & work perfectly . but there engine is shoved all the way into the fire wall . A lesser car would have resulted in several fatalities . God bless air bags & Japanese automobiles

Nothing But Quality - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Jake Benn - August 1 - 9:23 amMy dad bought this car with 10,000 on it back in 2003 and then put 212,000 miles on it. We took care of the basics and it still runs exactly like new maybe better. I got it and put some performance parts on (cold air intake, racing plugs, new struts etc.) This car has never let either of us down and if the odometer did not say it had 218,000 miles on it, no one driving it or riding in it would think any thing else but it was a new car.

Great Car - 1999 Toyota Camry
By vetteranvetteman - May 24 - 2:00 amThe car has not given me any problems other than routine maintenance. The small engine creates quite a lot of horse power and is absolutely sufficient for daily driving purposes. The seats are comfortable and the gas mileage isnt bad either. The car is very easy and fun to drive!

1999 Toyota Camry in N Maine - 1999 Toyota Camry
By jsteffes - March 31 - 10:00 amI purchased this car for $8500 and it had only 34,000 miles. The engine was clean and it ran perfect. The tires need replacing (stock tires), the interior needed some cleaning up, and the flex-pipe for the exhaust was replaced (covered under warranty); but other than that the car is very sound. It has a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with 5-speed manual transmission. At first I was wanting the automatic trans but with the high gas prices and the extra oomph with the manual, Im glad I actually purchased it with the 5-speed.

Very Happy with My Second Camry - 1999 Toyota Camry
By Toyota Woman - February 25 - 10:00 amI have never had a single problem with either of my Camrys, and the ride and interior are so comfortable and capable. Im always astonished when I see someone buy an unreliable car in the same class, and then having to deal with break downs. Stupid is a stupid does! My first Camry is over at 130,000 miles with not even the slightest problem, and Im going to drive it to 250!
