The base V6 now comes with a five-speed automatic, while the optional V8 has been upgraded to deliver 270-hp and 330 pound-feet of torque. A rollover sensor now comes with the optional head curtain airbag system. A limited-slip differential has been added to the stability control system. SR5 models now feature a chrome grille, color-keyed bumpers and black running boards, while the Sport model get a color-keyed grille. All Limiteds receive color-keyed bumpers, illuminated black running boards and a black roof rack.

4 Runner - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By Frank Trask - February 18 - 3:36 amMy experience with the 4 Runner is much better than I expected and being my 7th Toyota product I do expect a lot. I had the Dealer install Michelins as from previous experience the Dunlops dont make it. Ride and handling is excellent for this type of vehicle. Fuel mileage so far 19 mpg+.

With gas being so inflated and a wide choice vehicles I really took my time to find what I thought would best serve my domestic and male ego needs. I test drove and could of afforded any suv out there, but the truth is that for my money and long term investment I decided to go with the 4runner limited fully loaded... and I love it. Perfect for my 3 dogs (terrier, boxer, mastiff). Get in the mountain snow, off road and in the city. decent mpg. avg.17.8.

By Pat - February 1 - 5:16 amThis is the best SUV I have ever owned. Its sleek, stylish, and the most comfortable vehicle. It has so many standard features that I am still trying to figure them out. I did a lot of research on this and other SUVs prior to making my decision. This SUV is by far the one that stood out the most. I read a lot of reviews and I did not find any that said this SUV was not a good buy. I have never regretted purchasing this SUV.

Got one of the First off the Line -2003 - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By L. - January 3 - 6:36 amI love this truck. One problem is the back hatch. If Im not careful all groceries fall out when I open the back hatch. This problem has cost me dozens of eggs :) Also the hatch window opens with the remote key, but I have to start the car to put it back up -- not convenient at all! Other than those things...I LOVE THIS TRUCK...and I know my daughter is safe. Thats the main thing.

Solid 4-Runner - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By HXed - December 21 - 5:10 amThis is my first Toyota product and 4-Runner. I traded in a 2002 Maxima and I have no regrets. I waited until 2500 miles to write my post because I wanted to be fair in my comparison. I am very pleased with my dealership(Chantilly Toyota)as they provided a hassle free experience and various maintenance perks. There is plenty to value in the build quality, reliability, performance, creature comforts, and asthetics of the 4-Runner. The commuting gas mileage is actually better than the Maxima, which was a surprise. The only draw back is the legroom for drivers. I am 62"/197 and I need more room. No one over 59" can sit comfortablely behind me. Otherwise, I am extremely pleased.

Best Car On The Road - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By Cheryl Susdorf - December 15 - 11:16 pmI always wanted to own a 4Runner ever since they came out and now I have one. Its the best purchase Ive ever made. Its more than comfortable and a rating of 10 is not high enough as far as Im concerned. Its so easy to drive, rides well and looks great, what more could you ask for? I will never be without my 4Runner and when this one wears out, whenever that is, Ill buy another one. I have a muscle disease and it is easier for me to get in and out of than a regular "car", which is another plus. I cant think of one improvement I would make.

So many wonderful uses for the 4 Runner, Rugged yet very nice and elegant at the same time. Thank you Toyota for making my decision easy when purchasing a new SUV, the choice was very clear!

Best Buy Ever - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By 4Runner man - December 7 - 8:36 pmI bought my 4runner Limited 2wd certified vech, I have had this vech for six months, the more I drive it the more I like it. My Limited came with all the features, JBL sound system, Nav system, rear camera, driver and passenger air bags, sunroof, night time rear view mirror, compast, 17 inch rims, running (lit) boards. The ride is smooth and swift, runs on regular unleaded, gets 18mpg in the city and 24 on the hwy. I have put six thousands trouble free miles on this vech, maints is low change the oil and drive, I live in the land of Cars Los Angeles, You name it we drive it and still prefer my 4runner Limited because it fits in every where from Beverly Hills to beaches of Malibu.

Great SUV - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By Raleigh Neal - December 4 - 1:06 pmI have only owned the vehicle for a few weeks, but I can already tell that I made a smart decision in buying this SUV. It is a well made vehicle (no rattles, quiet, excellent interior materials, etc.). I am also suprised at the gas mileage, it is better than I expected at 23-24 mpg on recent trip. I previously owned a Ford Escape, which was also a fine SUV, but the 4Runner is better in every way.

Best SUV made for the price - 2005 Toyota 4Runner
By John Rawlings - December 1 - 8:13 pmThis is a high-end vehicle for a mid- range price. I purchased my 4-runner brand new and 63,000 miles later have only one regret. This truck was not the best design for tall people but ok with the floor position for the seat completely back. Not much ceiling clearance either. Now with that said the Toyota 4- runner deserves recognition as a premier SUV by which all others should be judged. Large enough for a family of 4 to take on vacation, convenient roof racks ,and equipped with a powerful 4.0L engine that can effortlessly take you anywhere. Toyota has always impressed me with quality control that is unparalleled by any auto maker in for comparatively priced vehicles.
