  • Awesome SUV. Best in class by far - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

This SUV is my 2nd 4Runner and they just keep getting better. I LOVE the quality and feel of the leather, it is 10 times better than cloth. The heated seats are a really cool, or should I say hot feature! Although my car-loving son uses them more than I do, they are still an excellent touch on frosty mornings. This car has a punchy V6 that provides plenty of power. The stereo sounds like music from heaven and I also like the 6-disc CD changer, I also enjoy this cars ULTRA-quiet cabin and soft ride and yet you can still feel the road. I am in love with this car and will continue to buy them untill a better car comes out (which will probably not happen).

I spent 4 months researching a new vehicle to replace a 1998 Jeep Wrangler. Main focus was quality and reliability. The 2005 met the above criteria as well as cost and style. Name and mid-size SUV-I drove it and spent countless hours on the net reviewing it. The 4Runner is simply the best valued mid-size SUV out there. Its got great style, handles well, has great base features and is just plain fun to drive. Dont waste your time-pick a color and take it home.

  • Love the 4Runner - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

2005 Limited 4wd 4Runner V8. I bought the 4Runner new and I have averaged about 17500 miles per year. The 4Runner has exceeded my expectations. From the snow and ice in D.C. to the beaches of Florida outstanding in every area. I have made a number of cross country trips and of course plenty of running around town with exceptional performance. This is my second 4Runner and i have found the improvements numerous. The exterior is eyecatching and clean, rugged yet sleek, not too big and not too small. The interior is vastly improved. Ergonomic controls, dual climate control, heated seats, roomy comfortable, quality leather seats, great sound system and nav system, backup camera. Highly recommend.

The Toyota 4runner is a fine SUV. When I took delivery of the 4Runner the very first thing I noticed was how smooth and quiet the ride was it was something I didnt expect. Second is the comfort you seem to melt into the seat and I have the manual adjust seats. The sound system I have is outstanding. it has surround sound - man is it the best. Ive talked to a lot of owners of other SUVs and the toyota stands out because of all the creature comforts. So I rate the 4runner high because its hard to beat

  • Everything you expected from Toyota - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

Feel great about my purchase. Drives solid feels solid. I had a ford explorer before and the 4runner blows it away in comfort, stability and performance. I wanted the limited for the navigation and leather but opted for the sport and put in after factory leather which was definitly the way to go. Most dealers work with leather installation companies. I will also put in an after market DVD navigation system from pioneer which has voice command. All told I saved about 5k and pretty much got a limited with the more agressive look the hood scoop on the sport provides. The dog in the back loves the window that goes down. Most important, my fiance says that I look hot in the truck. :)

  • Id buy it again! - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

I am surprised at the standard features and the attention to details like the rear sliding glass, 17" wheels, cup holders everywhere, the auto-lock feature on the hatch (no need to slam closed), the auto ignition (a quick turn of the key starts the car), fog lights, the hidden glove box inside the glove box, electronics on the dash, stereo controls on the steering wheel, sensors on the wheels (indicates any changes with tire inflation), very, very low wind noise, roof rack and running boards, smooth, appropriately powered, gas shocks to open both the hood and the hatch (effortless to open). Additionally, all the fluids, oil and air filters are really easy to get to under the hood.

  • Solid vehicle - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

Real pleased after coming from a new BMW that was in shop about every month. V8 has great pickup and reasonable gas mileage. Average mileage is between 17 and 18 w regular w about 80% stop and go city driving. Long trips get me 20 mpg. BMW was avg 19 mpg on premium. Still no Honda Civic, though and with the small tank (23 gallons) there are a lot of gas stops. Good amount of interior room, great brakes and lots and lots of storage areas.

  • Great SUV - keeping for 10 years - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

This is a great SUV. Just test drive it and compare. It was this or the Pathfinder, and this was far more car for the $$. I plan on driving this for the next 10 years.

  • Good Truck - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

This truck is fun to drive with the tented windows it is a little easier to cool than most I have driven the price of gasoline does not make me stay home any more and I really like the red color with gray interior

  • So far so good - 2005 Toyota 4Runner

Very nice ride with good handling, acceleration, comfort, smooth ride for body on frame solid rear axle vehicle. Wont let you forget its a truck, but thats what I bought it for. A little too much "gear picking" with v6 on steep grades. Engine has slight ticking sound (most Toyotas seem too, but disconcerting, probably timing chain instead of belt causes this) which is bothersome but engine runs fine. Have no real gripes, purchased the vehicle with just >30k miles and it feels like the brand new 07 model I test drove. I expect many more years out of this vehicle, although maintenance looks to be expensive. Wish v6 models had an external tranny cooler at least offered as an option.
