This Year's Model Updates:

Toyota's SUV receives minor changes. The most noticeable is the addition of the 2WD Limited to the model lineup. SR5 models receive new interior fabrics.

Pros:
  • Great looks and ground-pounding performance make the 4Runner an ideal choice for people who love the great outdoors as well as those who just want to look like they do.
Cons:
  • Steep price and choppy highway ride temper our enthusiasm for this otherwise outstanding truck.

Outstanding value through and through! Runs and looks great! Extremely durable and reliable and gets much better gas mileage than I thought it would. Have over 150,000 miles on it and it looks like itll go another 150,000!

Ive owned the vehicle since it was new and it has proven to be 100% reliable. Other than normal wear & tear Ive only had to replace the rear window wiper motor.

I just bought this 4runner 2.7L/4 cylinder/manual/rear diff lock four months ago, since I bought this 4runner I never had problems, I just changed brake caliper/changed oil and adjusted the rear brakes, I brought it to my mechanic after buying it and he said when he test drove it, it runs like 6 cylinder, he likes it!! It has 242800k in its engine but man it drives great!! I am planning to keep this truck til it drops. Routine check up needs to be followed and this stud will rock!!

I bought this SUV used with 88K miles on it and I just love it. Was considering a Land Rover Freelander but feel everything about this is superior. This is my first ypyota and the fit and finish, even of this used SUV is incredible. I love the height and ride perfo

  • 238,000 miles and still going strong! - 1997 Toyota 4Runner

This is my 2nd 4 runner. I have only replaced the water pump and timing belt. The truck still looks great inside and out. If you want reliability Toyota trucks are the way to go. I expect to get at least another 150k. I dont drive like you mamma either, these are hard miles. The 4 wheel drive is there when you need it, it will climb some steep hills. If you are worried about good dealer service- dont, you will not need it!

It is so reliable. I looked in consumer reports before my purchase as it had 44,000 miles on it and was spendy at that time. The only thing I have ever had to do is change the starter at 85K and purchase tires.I have never had any mechanical problems.
