  • Great Truck - 1995 Toyota 4Runner

I love to drive this truck, its comfortable, but lacks power. Being 64" it could use a little more leg room. Gas milage could be better. Also had a blown head gasket while going up a grade on the freeway, temp. gauge never moved off normal, so cracked the block. Toyota claims that the head gasket recall of earlier engines was fixed and I was stuck with the cost of a new engine.

  • Rust Bucket - 1995 Toyota 4Runner

Great engine, sturdy suspension, decent interior, but its rusting away at 9 yrs old w/103K mi. Expected better durability from Toyota. Power antenna, windshield washer motor both quit, and tailgate key cylinder is frozen with rust. Better rig for dry climate, Indiana humidity & road salt eat it up.

  • slow! - 1995 Toyota 4Runner

dont get me wrong, I love this car. but stomp on the gas, and dont expect much to happen except a lot more noise. that being said, this is simply the most reliable, capable vehicle ive ever driven. ive had mine for 5 years, it has 300,000 miles, and it runs just fine. off road, its absolutely unstoppable. the storage and versatility is awesome

  • Wish engine were bigger - 1995 Toyota 4Runner

We bought the vehicle with 35,000 miles. It is very reliable. The only problem is the engine is too small and that is only a problem for us when we were in Colorado. The car performed but was slow. Id buy it again.

  • My trusty 4Runner - 1995 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

My Tacoma saved my life during a collision that totalled her. I was so depressed. I knew the only thing I could do was get another Toyota. When I got my 4Runner she was a real lemon. She had an overheating issue that I didnt discover until I took a small road trip. After I replaced the radiator and thermostat and maintainenced fluids and whatnot...she was the most dependable car I could ever ask for. The funny thing is...they made 2WD 4Runners! And I bought one! Didnt know until servicing her at Jiffy Lube. They were baffled too. She has 168k miles and still runs strong. The gas mileage sucks tho. I have to sell my baby because of it. I will be sad to see her go.

  • SR5 V6 - 1995 Toyota 4Runner

This is a great car. I bought it new and it still runs greatat over 120,000 miles. Had a tune-up at 65K and the cd player ate a cd in the first week. Those are the only problems ever. I would recommend again. Now I am looking at the Sequoa for the reliability and value.

  • Economy VS Power - 1995 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

I bought this 1995 for runner to replace a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. The MPG is ok to far. Once the needle leaves the full mark, it move very fast. The horse power is very disappointing. This has to be the most unhappy I have been with any of my cars. I find myself after a very short time considering selling off for more horse power.

  • Good for this type of SUV - 1995 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

This SUV is tops in look and comfort. However, I agree that if you are looking for a car-like ride this is not the SUV for you. The ride is much like a truck. Larger, wider tires are a good option. The engine reliability and fuel economy are great in this class. The towing is not great, but the room to travel is great.

  • 1995 SR5 V6 2WD - 1995 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

Very solid truck with no creaks or rattles at almost 80,000 miles. I love everything about this truck except the fuel economy...I expected anywhere from 16 to 20 miles per gallon (city/hwy) but am only getting 13-14 no matter what type of driving. Hopefully a good tuneup will help, but in any case the truck runs great and has a fairly civilized ride for a tough truck. Id buy a new 4Runner in the future...if they werent so expensive, but this one was worth the money used.

  • Very disappointed - 1995 Toyota 4Runner
    By -

I purchased this vehicle with 126K miles on it. It now has 130K and is sitting in the shop with a $3,700 transmission bill. I had very high hopes when I bought it and was hoping to keep it for years to come. Unfortunately, the failure of the transmission took me by surprise. I am very surprised it wore down after only 130K miles. I really do love the truck, unfortunately someone before me did not take care of the transmission and now Im stuck with the bill. I guess its off to Craigslist to see who wants a mechanics special.
