  • Going from full size truck to outback = Good - 2013 Subaru Outback
    By -

I am a student that has to travel 425 miles round trip per week from home to school. I previously had a full size pick up truck and I can not be happier with the switch to the Subaru. I live in Northern NH and the outback is great in the snow/ice and handles well on the highway. I have been averaging 25-27mpg highway but I suspect it mostly has to do with the terrain. I am 63" and am not skinny by any means. 17,000 miles in 5 months and have been very happy so far

  • Love Our 2013 Subaru Outback Limited - 2013 Subaru Outback

Traded in our 2007 Ford Expedition for a 2013 Outback 2.5i Limited with Moonroof. We are so glad we did! We have about 1000 miles on the car and its been a blast to drive. The car handles well and the 2nd generation CVT is very smooth. Our gas mileage has ranged between 26 and 29 MPG in 50/50 mixed driving. The new front end and grille makes the 2013 Outback stand out. The interior is spacious and seems to be made of material in high quality. The harmon karmen sound system is great as well. This is our third Subaru and it wont be our last!

  • 2013 Outback 2.5i Premium - 2013 Subaru Outback

I purchased a 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium after extensive research. This is my first Subaru and first AWD vehicle. After 2,700 miles of driving I have been very pleased with the performance, drivability, and features. The car handles extremely well on all roads. Acceleration is acceptable, with plenty of torque and power with the 4 cyl. Boxer engine. The CVT transmission takes a bit of "getting used to" as it does not shift through gears as a typical automatic transmission. The interior is quiet and comfortable, plenty of space for 4 adults and storage in the rear cargo area. The Outback is an exceptional value IMHO.

Only 750 miles. So far, everything I expected. Love the white with corresponding black, headlight design, and overall look. Interior design and layout very good. Wish list: auto headlight delay when shutting off; make memory seats and adaptive cruise separate options; lift gate window open separate from lift gate. Knew these werent there before purchase, but would be good features/options for future. Voice command navigation hard to use.

  • Will replace next year - too many issues - 2013 Subaru Outback
    By -

There are two issues with the vehicle that really take away from the enjoyment of driving the car and make me regret purchasing it in the first place. The first issue is that the Harmon/Kardon "upgraded" audio system presents a noticeable hiss when doing certain functions with the audio/nav unit. When I am programming my nav unit each time I press a button I hear a hiss that gets louder, than softer. Same with when I am talking to someone using the bluetooth phone. Each time the person talks a noticeable hiss gets a bit louder than goes quiet again. The other issue is a very noticeable "clunk" noise when releasing the brake pedal when at a complete stop. Makes the care feel cheap.

  • Suspension is a little hard as are the interior plastics - 2013 Subaru Outback
    By -

This is our second Outback, the first being a 2006. Whats nice - the interior styling, the very good AWD, and FINALLY rear air vents (at least in the Limited) that have been available on non-US Outbacks for years. But they did stiffen things up a bit and this is described by some professional reviewers as improved handling. In real world driving, it means that imperfect pavement (really normal pavement these days) is always there with you. Its not bouncy, just hard. Which brings me to the interior plastics - tap on them with your nails to get a knock on the door sound. The materials seem fairly cheap aside from the seating surfaces. A lesson from recent Toyotas?

  • Love my Subaru! - 2013 Subaru Outback

Got a bug one day and decided to buy an Outback! Picked it up yesterday and am absolutely loving it! Traded in my Mazda CX 7 for better gas mileage, regular 87 octane and Standard AWD. A really practical, rugged, comfortable car. I really cannot say enough good thing and am totally happy with my choice!

  • Met my Expectations! - 2013 Subaru Outback

My wife has a 2010 Legacy and has 84,000 miles on it and she can get over 30 MPG, easily. I have 4500 miles on my 2013 Outback and I easily get 29 MPG, sometimes over 30. As far as the mileage concerns I feel it is the way a person drives. The car is not meant for spirited driving. If you want that, buy something else. It drives tight and very predictable, although the gas pedal is a little touchy when accelerating from a stop. The ride quality is very good, a little firm but I wanted that over a soft ride. I did buy the limited for the Harmon/Karmon radio because the base radio really sucks as far as sound quality. Im 63" and the little added height to the Outback makes it easy to exit.

  • Killer Value - 2013 Subaru Outback
    By -

There are a few key changes for the OB in 2013 that were important, so I was willing to wait for that model. These include the Eyesight safety system, the strengthened chassis, and the improved 4 cylinder engine. These were worth waiting for, as this car now offers killer value in terms of a package that is off road capable, very quiet, good gas mileage, and really comfortable.
