Subaru 2016 Outback Ltd. - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Stephanie W. - October 24 - 11:17 amMy husband and I are thoroughly impressed with this car. We test drove other brands, but the Subaru Outback impressed us the most. The quality of the vehicle along with the standard features it comes with makes this a very good value. It is fun to drive, and it looks sharp with its red exterior and ivory leather seats. I do mostly city driving, and so far Im getting 27 miles per gallon. I cant think of any negatives about this car, and I highly recommend it.

love love love it - 2016 Subaru Outback
By walter lawson - October 21 - 9:22 amBeautiful vehicle! Gas mileage is poor but I love the way I can cruise up mountains. I would get the four cylindar if you have a long commute.

Electrical drain - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Tom E - October 10 - 4:19 pmNo modern car should leave you stranded. After purchasing a brand new 2016 Outback Limited - the battery is completely drained in 13 days (with not using the vehicle). Dealer reports this is "normal!" WT_?!? That is NOT normal. I would have given higher ratings across the board had it not been for this crucial issue. You cannot park at the airport and go for a 2 week trip without getting stranded. Given this situation, if you buy one of these, also buy a 10mm wrench so you can disconnect the negative battery connection when you plan to take a trip. ... this is my wifes car, had it been mine I would have returned it - this is unacceptable.

Great car! - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Ryan Quigley - September 21 - 9:38 pmWe owned an outback before, 15 years old and still going, it was a natural choice to get it again. Fantastic safety features with the new eyesight tech. Comfortable and commanding drive.

The best vehicle - 2016 Subaru Outback
By David - August 26 - 9:50 amI wanted a wagon with a comfortable seat and some power to replace my 2012 Prius V. I loved the Prius V but the seat was very uncomfortable. After driving CRV Touring AWD, Volvo XC70, Acura RDX AWD, Allroad and Outback, I was surprised to find myself really liking the Subaru Outback. I like its spacious interior, simple and logical layout of audio and navigation systems, and overall feel and looks of the interiors. The seat is extremely comfortable. There is no need to read the manual because everything is intuitive. It runs very quiet and acceleration is acceptable even with a 4 cylinder engine. I chose the 3.6 R Limited for for power and smoothness. The adaptable cruise control works very well. I also got the factory trailer hitch for my bikes. However, there is excessive wind turbulence with moonroof wide open. Other than that It is the most versatile, practical and fun to drive wagon. It has gotten 21 to 25 MPG.

Wish US made a wagon like this. - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Garry - August 22 - 9:21 pmWe havent bought a new car in about 10 years, and took this purchase very seriously. We basically wanted all wheel drive in something that would get good gas mileage, and after a lot of research the 4-cylinder Outback seemed to fit the bill. Weve had it for 2 months, and already have 3500 miles on it. I have to say I love driving this car. The ride is great, great handling, the seats seem to be comfortable as we have taken 4-hour drives in it. The electronics are probably more than I would have wanted, but the options came with the power passenger seat and sunroof I did want. I use the cruise a lot, and the adaptive cruise option is neat. The only problem so far with the car is mileage. One reason I chose the 4-cylinder was EPA highway of 33 mpg. So far Im only getting about 29. Ive asked about that, and the Subaru dealer told me it would improve over time. Well see. But I would recommend the Outback to anyone.

great daddy car, get eyesight package - 2016 Subaru Outback
By harold - June 24 - 7:22 pmfeel very safe. get eyesight! too many safety features to pass up on. dont have time to list all of them. in adaptive cruise control you dont have to adjust if there is traffic, car will slow down and resume on its own. also, car will stay in lane by itself. there is an eyesight package that many salespeople and dealerships are not aware of called package 14 which includes eyesight, blind spot monitoring, and power lift gate without adding other costly options. cloth interior looks ok but not practical. get custom seat covers

Subaru Outback - flawless performance - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Bob - June 14 - 6:50 pmI have never even looked at Subarus before becoming interested in one. After looking and driving virtually every other similar styled vehicle out there (small suvs/wagons) we decided on the Limited model pretty well loaded with most options available. Two weeks after buying we had an emergency 1,900 mile round trip come up. This vehicle never missed a beat entire trip, was very comfortable and I am well over 6 and about 265#. Didnt have much time to get used to the Subaru before having to leave so was not familiar with how everything worked, i.e. the navigation, radio system, lots of safety features but didnt take much to figure most of it out. We were in very heavy rains at end of trip and even in some pretty serious dust storms early in the drive. Have seen reviews indicating not enough power with the 4 cylinder but did not have any instance of not having sufficient power and did go up some pretty steep stuff. Acceleration while getting onto freeways and passing more than adequate. Some things hard to review at this time as no maintenance costs yet, purchase cost very good compared to other similar equipped vehicles we looked at. Obviously we have no idea of resale value at this time and warranty has not been used. Right now if we had it to do over again we would have purchased the exact same vehicle, seems to fit us perfectly. The dealer, Modesto Subaru has been excellent as has been the salesman, Ron Myers, who was able to answer all our questions well with absolutely no pressure at any time.

Love my new Outback! - 2016 Subaru Outback
By Chuck C. - June 2 - 11:22 amYou can get the specs on this car anywhere, so theres no need to belabor them: from a capability versus cost (both upfront price and long-term costs like gas, maintenance, and depreciation), you cant go wrong with this car! Really, its closest competitor is its sibling, the Subaru Forrester. We seriously considered the Toyota RAV4 hybrid which is the gas mileage king of the AWD vehicles in this basic size class. The RAV4 hybrid was fun to drive but its gas mileage advantage over the Outback was only 5 MPG (EPA combined) while it was much more cramped than the Outback in both the back seat area and the passenger front seat. This tradeoff ultimately led us to choose the Outback which actual cornered better than the RAV4 hybrid and was almost as quiet.
