This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

Overall I am pleased with the vehicle, but am unsure abouth the dealership network. Our truck has had several trips for repairs and still am fighting an A/C problem quiting after 1 1/2 - 2 hours on the highway. If you shut the A/C system off for aprox. 30 seconds and turn the A/C back on all will be fine for the next hour until you repeat. Front suspensions is a MAJOR sore point with this vehicle. I am on my 3 set of struts after only 26,00 miles. Bad luck? I keep telling myself I bought an early production version and am paying the price for it.

I like my VUE. The vehicle I liked best out of recent years was my GMC Jimmy but I couldnt keep it away from the fuel pumps. When I found out VUEs are rated for 27 highway that got my attention. I have 80+ thousand miles, just bought new Bridgestones last fall and still have original brakes. You can hear it run thru the 5 aoutomatic gears as you accelerate but I kind of like that. I have had no problems in all kind of snow and ice and the only time I was afraid of getting stuck was in MUD. It didnt let me down. I like the outside distinctive styling and the interior is comfortable if it is plastic. I have spent some money on repairs but not out of reason.

Vehicle is great.... dealer is only marginal. I wish there was another dealer in Wasatch front that was not owned by the same

I love my Saturn Vue. It is beautiful, fun to drive, reliable, and I get great service from Earvin and everyone at Saturn of Union City in Union City, Ga. My only complaint is that I would like better gas mileage, but speaking honestly 18 mpg in a city like aTlanta is not bad and I do get better than 25mpg on the highway. I was recently rear ended by a Tahoe, and the back of my Pumpkin (her name) looks so much better than the front of that Tahoe it is not funny. I plan for all my cars to be Saturns.

The VUE was not my first choice, but with all the incentives and the GM Card points, I had to go for it. The pickup from a dead stop is very good, and the gas mileage runs between 21 and 26. The VUE has a ton of interior room; adults can actually sit comfortably in the back seat. My wife and I are very pleased with this vehicle.

  • My First Car! - 2003 Saturn VUE

this was the first car that i got to buy by myself...i have driven many, many miles - long highway trips between texas, utah, colorado, and idaho, and have never had a problem. I had over 100,000 miles on it and had owned it for 5 years before the air conditioning went out and needed to be fixed...absolutely nothing else has gone wrong with the car! i have had no engine problems...i have kept it maintained and took it in for all its "check-ups"...the only reason i even traded it in was because i now have four children, and my whole family no longer fits in!!

This car is not made for back road driving. Its appeal may be for young drivers but this car is made for family transportation. I live in the country and the suspension has not held up. In addition, the antilock brakes strangely work against an agressive driver. I have had my wheel bearings replaced numerous times and have only had my vehicle for a year and 1/2. In addition my front coil spring broke in two!? To sum this up the suspension and quality in this car have not lived up to the making of an SUV (AKA Sport Utility Vehicle).

Sort of a good car. Had bad dealer experience, salespeople are great, service people typical GM. Arrogant, might be a good word, like "I never heard of such a problem". Drive it 50- 100 miles before you buy, not just around the block. Some good points but mine still surges and I dont think I be back to Saturn or GM. Been 10 years since I had a GM car, sorry they are still the same.

  • Saturn is big bang for the buck - 2003 Saturn VUE

My experience with my 2003 VUE has been nothing but good. I get a lot of great feedback on its neat design and people guess it to be more expensive than it really is.

  • Needs polish - 2003 Saturn VUE

We were in the market for a larger vehicle. We didnt need a real SUV but our choices in wagons was limited. Then we looked at the VUE. We arranged a test drive at a friendly, stress-free dealership and my wife (the primary driver) instantly fell in love with the thing! Best of all, it was about 4 grand less than a comparably-equipped L- series wagon. The VUE is a real charmer!
