This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Not worth the trouble - 2003 Saturn VUE

I bought my 2003 Automatic V6 after test driving and going on Saturns reputation. Big Mistake. After the sensor being replaced in the gas tank, the side mirror cracking for no reason, the faulty console latch and transmission leak, now Im dealing with the noise that sounds like the frame is falling off of the axle. I would not recommend the VUE to anyone, unless you like spending alot of time at the dealership. Just hope all of this stops before the warranty is up!

  • Avoid 2003 model of Saturn VUE - 2003 Saturn VUE

I have a 2003 Saturn VUE with 87,000 miles on it. Below are parts that had to be replaced: * water pump at 42,000 miles * rear differential at 48,000 and 84,000 miles * heater motor * rear wiper motor *steering pinions Additionally, the leather seats have cracked on a side despite bi-weekly conditioning. I do not plan to purchase another GM product.

  • Lots of little problems - 2003 Saturn VUE

Bought our 03 4cyl FWD new in Mar 03. Traded it in Dec 05 with 30,000 miles. Ok acceleration for a 4 cyl although gas mileage was disappointing (20 city/25hwy@75mph). CVT transmission was always sluggish/erratic and two different Saturn dealers couldnt notice any problems, even with the letter about 6yr/75K CVT trans warranty due to problems. Overall noisy powertrain/ride and lots of little problems. Probably had 8 different warranty claims (rattling spare tire jack on delivery, failed engine ignition module, rattling exhaust shields, sun visor that flopped down, broken seat belt holders, etc) Traded for a Ford Freestar that has similar gas mileage, more room and much quieter ride.

  • A doom with a vue - 2003 Saturn VUE

Should have been and still be recalled due to computer failures in all or most vues sold. Poor repair info and no gm dealer is willing to touch it. Power steering fails and makes it like driving a tank. Poor info for self repair work. Recall these cars.

  • Worst car ever!!! - 2003 Saturn VUE

We got the Saturn in November of 2012 with 78000 miles on it. The transmission went out in January of 2013 with 81000 miles on it. This car is by far the worst car i have ever owned. It was nothing but stress for me. I ignored all the reviews and still go the car. Worst mistake ever. I will never buy another car from GM again..

  • Bad VUE - 2003 Saturn VUE

My brand new $26K VUE broke down at 32 days old.The dealership and Saturn Engineers were unable to determine what happened. This happened 2x. After the third round of breakdowns, and scared to drive the car,The dealership told us to call Saturn Corp Cust Svc & Ill jump to my point: Saturn Corp HAS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. All responses were inflexible and never answered my concerns. The point is:beware buying a Saturn- IF YOU HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR,YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I CAN SAY I can’t imagine any manufacturer treating their customer with less value, so BUY ANOTHER BRAND THAN SATURN. Dont risk having my experience!

Bad paint spots on gold vue 2002. Had rear cargo door replaced but still have spots all over the vehicle that they said is the metallic in the paint. It looks like a safari vue.

  • Do not buy this vehicle - 2003 Saturn VUE

We bought our 2003 AWD V-6 because my wife liked the styling, the AWD, the 4 doors and heard Saturns were good cars. Please take it from me, its junk. The front end rattles and shakes. We have had brakes replaced, tires replaced, it still shakes. The transmission just went out, a $5,900 fix, more than the car is worth! The Saturn dealer said it would cost more to rebuild the transmission than to replace it with a new one. To me, that is simply crazy. Buy a Ford or a Toyota but stay away from this piece of junk!

  • Be vey careful - 2003 Saturn VUE

Be aware when buying one of these. We had nothing but problems with ours. Stupid things such as washer fluid pump never worked, thermostat, check engine light was on the entire time that we owned it(2 years). Also head gasket and lower intake gaskets were starting to fail.Only 70,000 miles. Make sure that when they change your oil that the filter is changed, not a conventional oil filter. I would not recommend any of the VUE models, not a good design. If you must get a Saturn stick with a SC series small car.

  • Transmission number TWO! - 2003 Saturn VUE

I would like to say please rethink buying a Saturn Vue, the VTi transmission in this car is prone to premature failure. Something I wished I had known prior to making my purchase in 2003. The transmission on my 2003 Vue had to be replaced at only 43,434 mile, which was replaced in April 2008. I had not only bought the 4year/48,000 mile Service maintenance package I also purchased an extra warranty for the Mechanical Failure Service Contract for 6 year/72,000 miles. Wish this did save me, because the first one was covered under the warranty. However! Now almost 2 years and only 72,818 miles later, the transmission is failing again after Saturn repaired/replaced it. Per Saturn, they only
