This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Vue is all I expected, and more - 2003 Saturn VUE

Ive had the VUE for 4 years now, and about 48,000 miles. Bough it used with 10K, and other than oil changes, tires (Bridgestones wear horribly, but sick like glue!), and 2 sets of rotors and pads, the VUE has been flawless. With about 57K, I can honestly say this is a very solid vehicle. Ive used it for towing, and with the 3.0 6cyl, it can haul a pretty heavy load. Average around town mileage is about 20MPG, HWY I can get up to 25MPG. As a 5 year old vehicle, I think it still looks pretty sharp, and I added some chrome nerf bars, an against the black body, it looks pretty sporty. This car is also loaded with the leather package, which included seat heaters. Overall..very happy.

This is my wifes car and I was skeptical when we bought it but it has been the most trouble-free vehicle I have ever owned (better than Civic and F-150). Ours has the Opel/Saab 3.0 V6 and 5-speed slushbox. Havent driven the newer Honda-powered models but I doubt they have the flat torque curve of this German engine (Honda engines in my experince are gutless down low but have lots of power up high). The engine is silky smooth has a wide torque band from idle to redline so it feels stronger than its advertised 171hp. Shifts are crisp and suspension is taut for an SUV. We were hit hard in this car and it protected us well (should have totaled it based on what it ended up costing to fix

  • Love My Saturn Vue - 2003 Saturn VUE

Bought Saturn Vue 3 months ago as winter 2d car to my Mercedes SL500 convertible. The Vue is fun to drive, safe, economical on gas, nice youthful appearance, and plenty of room. Pleasant back-up vehicle for bad weather and everyday hard chores. Four cylinder AWD has more pick up than traditional Saturns I test drove. Glad I bought it.

  • Drive Every VUE that you can - 2003 Saturn VUE

I purchased my VUE about 3 months ago and have had problems with it ever since. My sister also has the VUE and never has had a problem. They replaced my steering shaft, my leather, turning links, you name it. I really like my car but cant seem to stay out of the dealership. My car does not ride or feel like any other VUE that I have been in. Drive more than one before you purchase this automobile.

Only trouble has been front CV joints. Have replaced both: one at 75K miles and the other at 85K miles. Love the plastic body; very forgiving in parking lots. Highest mpg is 27 on interstate. In-town runs around 21-22 mpg. Glad I bought my VUE.

  • Fun car to drive until 100,000 miles - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I bought my Vue brand new 5 years ago. Fun to drive, easy to carry large cargo and to transport adults with limited mobility. Once the car hit 100,000 it fell apart. I have replaced the transmission at 100,000, accelerator sensor, catilytic converter and exhaust valve, coil pack with spark plugs. Within the past year I had to replace the ignition and when the car was under warranty a cylinder head was replaced. After $10,000 in repairs, I would not consider another Saturn.

  • good for me - 2003 Saturn VUE

I have a 03 Vue 5 speed manual and my Vue has been very dependable. It has been from Florida to Kentucky and back twice and all in between. The only problems I have had are the squeaky steering wheel, had the deal greese for $50.00, problem fixed. The entire rear end shakes when applying the brakes. Need to have all 4 done.
