This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Love the VUE! - 2003 Saturn VUE

After having owned several large SUVs (Ford Bronco V8, for example), the switch to a smaller, more nimble and economical vehicle is difficult to describe. I like the VUEs handling, fuel economy, carrying capacity and overall appearance. Im buying one for my daughter for safety and handling reasons.

  • Very Satisfied - 2003 Saturn VUE

I bought this vehicle because I needed something with a little more room and better ground clearance than what I had in my Olds Alero. Of all the SUVs that I drove, only the Saturn was able to provide me with AWD and an exterior that would be able to resist the light offroad use I would be incurring. It hauls everything inside that I need. The interior is a nice plastic that I havent been able to tear up as aposed to former vehicles. The engine and the 5 speed automatic have been able to provide me with enough performance and economy to be very happy.

  • I love my VUE - 2003 Saturn VUE

The VUE has great fuel economy and the engine is very responsive. We took it on vacation and it handled well in the mountains. The interior is nice, the plastic panels are easy to clean and very durable. The insurance is also lower than other vehicles we were considering.

Very comfortable and a smooth ride. Fit and finish seem to be good. Cant comment on milage yet, as it is not broken in yet. No noises or rattles, and handling is quite good and responsive

  • Switching teams... - 2003 Saturn VUE

Formerly a die hard VW driver (Passat) I took a chance in the SUV market. Researched like crazy and found the VUE to be best suited for my needs (single mom - 2 kids under 6 = lots of stuff to haul!). The VUE is fun to drive, econmical and the no pressure sales guys, got to love that. I refuse to go mini-van and this was the perfect solution. The kids love the rear seating (spacious with their own cupholders!) and I love the ease of turning (lower to the ground means less rolling). Totally comfortable. Spacious. Go for the sunroof, a MUST. Lots of bang for the minimal buck.

  • Great SUV - 2003 Saturn VUE

This is my first SUV and I really enjoy driving it. It handles very well and has a very comfortable ride. Almost a year now and no problems.

This vehicle attracted my attention because of the combination of its load capacity, daylight running lights, and fold down passanger seat. With the option of ABS it dressed out nicely. Good power for size and reasonable MPG. After test driving two other vehicles in this class I settled on the Vue. This is a fun vehicle to drive.

The only problem I have with the VUE is the shifting patterns; the RPMs seem to get too high before it shifts from second to third gear. The AWD VUE is excellent in winter driving conditions. The VUE also handled some very rocky roads without problems while driving through the backwoods of the Uinta Mountains.

  • Great truck alternative - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

The Vue is my first non-pickup truck. As an artist, I need lots of cargo space and versatility. The Vue really delivers, especially with the rear and passenger seats down. The rings come in handy too. The 5-speed idle is so quiet, I thought it stalled twice already. (It didnt .) The smooth ride and handling is a nice switch from the truck experience. The added roof racks are great for those oversized canvases.

  • Luv it!! - 2003 Saturn VUE

I love this vehicle! 28 mpg, plenty of pickup, and I find it extremely comfortable. My son says it is like an optical illusion, looks tiny on the outside but plenty of room on the inside. I can park it anywhere, but the wide stance feels very secure. Yes, the engine is somewhat loud, but I just turn up the stereo! The base stereo and tape/CD is just fine.Sure, with the new type of transmission you are taking a chance as with any new technology, but that is what warranties are for. For me, I thought the RAV4 was incredibly uncomfortable and way too tiny inside. I pack 4 dogs a kid and groceries with no problem.
