This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Yes and No - 2003 Saturn VUE

Bought the 03 VUE used w/ 60K on it. Have had it in the shop for minor things, (compass came out of mirror, squaky steering column, etc) repairs costly. Okay ride but noisy at high speeds, low quality shocks. Enough power to take on Mtn highways and some dirt trails, easy to maneuver in city traffic. Cheap plastic interior and easily stained carpets and seats. But somehow, I still like it!

  • LOVE MY SATURN - 2003 Saturn VUE

I Love my Vue. I looked at other SUVs and was turned off by the fule milage they offered. I am very found of front wheel drive. I really dont need 4WR, and I dont care for RWD in the snow. Saturn was one of very few cars who offered FWR.

  • Wind Noise - 2003 Saturn VUE

I traded in my Suburban for a Vue hoping to find better fuel economy and reliability. So far the vehicle has performed well. However, the wind noise from the roof rack is unbearable.I took it back to the dealer and they were unable to fix the problem. Allegedly, Saturn is aware of this problem. Having known this prior to my purchase, I would have passed on the Vue.

  • Dont judge a book.......... - 2003 Saturn VUE

Compared four cylinder to six. At first four seemed like it had plenty of zip. A few months after I purchased the four lost its pep. Gas mileage not even close to what they represent. Buy the six!

  • Good Reliable Vehicle - 2003 Saturn VUE

I have had this car since September of 2002 and have put over 105,000 miles on it. I just recently had my 100k mile service done and did have a few things to replace (wheel bearings, strut, brakes/brake pads) but up until this point it has been nothing but basic maintenance. I change my oil regularly every 3k-4k miles and have gone on quite a few 1000+ mile trips with no problems at all. Ive also lived in cold wintery climates and it was a dream to drive in the snow. The VUE will definitely be on my list for my next new car.

  • Great Car So Far - 2003 Saturn VUE

I bought the Saturn VUE last week.. At this point, I am very satisfied with it. The leather seats are comfortable, there is definately plenty of interior room in the car (5 persons with a total weight of about 900 #)& (65" father)....I climbed into the back and was surprised at the room...Definately better than my 94 Jeep Cherokee (which I thought I would never want to give up!) Anyways, so far so good.....

  • Love/Hate reviews. Satisfied - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

Ive read the reviews and it appears to be a love /hate relationship with owners. For me, the VUE is the best GM product Ive owned to date. Several long distance trips have provided mileage in excess of 30mpg. 5 speed with the four so not familiar with tranny problems. Was back to the dealer once with stabalization recall. Comfortable and safe. Thumbs up at 56K

  • Transmission replaced at 15000 miles! - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I love my Vue, but I just had the transmission replaced at 15000 miles. I couldnt believe it! (thats why I rated the build so low) The dealership was super nice about it and of course they fixed it for free and paid for the rental car. I think the gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV. I get about 21 city and 26 highway.
