This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, the Saturn Vue gets a revised interior with a new center stack, center console, door panels and seat fabric. Outside, the front and rear fascias have been redesigned. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls are now standard, along with OnStar, power windows and power locks. The optional CD/MP3 audio system now includes an auxiliary jack for portable audio devices. The Red Line gets standard ebony leather seats with suede inserts, a power driver seat, unique instrumentation and ambient footwell lighting in both warm amber and cool blue.

Pros:
  • Strong V6, roomy cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Below-average build quality, some low-grade interior plastics, undersized front seats, vague steering.

  • VUE is a poor choice - 2006 Saturn VUE

This is the 3rd Saturn I have owned. The quality of workmanship is poor at best. A month after I purchased this the rattles began. Just about every single person that has ridden in the vehicle has remarked about how loud the interior noise was on the road. I will never buy another. I am back with a Honda a loving everyday. Ah, the ability to have the windows up and not hear absolutely every sound is amazing. Mileage is not as good as they claim. I got 23 MPG on the highway. City driving was in the low 20s.

  • Not Reliable - 2006 Saturn VUE

This vehicle is not reliable. I have had 7 warranty related issues in two years before hitting the 30,000 mile mark and they keep happening. The dent resistant panels may keep dents away but they are starting to come undone at the bottom so when you open the back doors the panel catches and the door has to be shut and opened again. This is not covered by the warranty either. I have had one door that would neither open nor close (at 8000 mi) and twice the locks froze up so the door will not shut until it thaws 30 miles from home w/ 2 infants in back. The entire onstar system was replaced. Carrier bearing had to be replaced (20,000 mi). Service not helpful either.

  • uncomfortable - 2006 Saturn VUE

The drivers cockit is tight and the seats are extremely uncomfortable. The gas milage is far less than advertised. The car pulls hard to the right on fast acceleration due to front wheel drive system not being able to manage horsepower of the Honda engine.

  • Dissatisfied! - 2006 Saturn VUE
    By -

I purchased my VUE just 2 months ago. My first VUE broke down on the side of the road 4 hours after purchase. I requested another VUE. This one lasted 3 weeks. 2 lights came on on the panel. Since then, the 2nd VUE has been in the shop off and on for 21 days. I feel ripped off. Also the dealership has not really done its part in making me happy. Therefore, I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone, ever! There have been wheel speed sensors, ABS modules, and every connector in between replaced on this VUE, yet to date the same 2 panel lights have come back on. I am so dissatisfied, it is ridiculous! I feel like I have been duped.

  • Do not buy a Vue - 2006 Saturn VUE
    By -

Purchasing my 06 Saturn vue was the worst mistake I have ever made. Since purchase I have had my vue in the shop a total of 6 times for the same problem-clunking noises in the front and back tires. A total of around $8000.00 in cost. Since it is out of warranty, Saturn corporate refuses to lend any assistance. Struts have been replaced twice ($800), wheel differential has been replaced twic (total of $5000), wheel bearing replaced, rotors replaced-it goes on and on. Saturn corporate will no longer return our calls. It has been a nightmare-I am going to go broke driving this car. Please-do not purchase a Saturn vue-
