Overview & Reviews
For 2004, 17-inch alloy wheels are now standard on non-supercharged SE models, and 16-inch, four-spoke alloys are standard on the XE-V6.
- Rugged looks and the off-road capability to match, lots of room inside, solid construction.
- Sloppy on-road ride and steering, four-cylinder and standard V6 lack power, spartan cabin design.

aint no mountain high enough........... - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By TIMMAAAAAYYYYYY - June 20 - 3:56 amGreat looking exterior. Fit and finish are excellent. Rides like a truck, but that is expected. Gas mileage is sub par, but the fun to drive factor outweighs the gas mileage by far. I bought it for my wife for Christmas, and she loves to get up in the mountains and take her new truck off road over pretty substantial terrain (sand, medium boulders, dry river beds) It keeps on going as long as you can keep gas in it.

Great SUV - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By Jordan - April 5 - 4:53 pmThis is an overall fantastic truck, the only problems i have ever had have only because of wear and tear that comes from regular driving. Ive taken it on the nations biggest highways and camping in the wilderness and its always gotten me home. The 4WD is easy to opperate, all the controls are easy to find and use, and the roof racks are very functional.

Nissan X-Terra - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By jkirvin23 - February 22 - 10:00 amFor those who like to use their SUVs to its full capacity this is the best one for you. It is very sporty and rugged. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles that other SUVs have but it is very enjoyable to drive and to get around in. There is lots of room and most importantly it has the reliability of a Nissan. My brother has a Pathfinder and he hasnt had a problem with his and he has over 100,000 miles on it. It is a good looking car with lots to back it up on its value!

My First New Nissan - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By jazziegirlie - February 16 - 10:00 amMy Nephew had a Nissan Xterra, and I asked him how he likes it and he said they loved it, so they lived in mobile we had a Ford F350 which rode rough and I was having back surgery so we drove right to Birmingham and bought one over the phone all we had to do was go sign the papers and it was a done deal and we love it, No comparision to the F350 Dually Diesel, will buy another one in probably 3 years just like it maybe a different color. Good Power, I love my Exterra!!! and as many as I see on the road there must be alot of people who love them do.

SUV that is really solid, not fake - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By Joaquin - January 31 - 10:16 amI have owned this car for 6 months now, and have no complaints at all so far, is solid like a rock, and very fun to drive. Is not like one of those SUV that look much more like a sedan on the inside, is rather basic and rough, but is still very quiet in the inside, seats are comfortable, and has a lot of pockets and compartments all over. AC and heater are great, factory stereo has a decent sound, manual transmission is smooth (for an off-road SUV) and looks fantastic, all your neighbors will notice it, thats for sure.

A truck with a cabin and a V6stick shift - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By daemonspeeding - January 21 - 2:00 amThe tow rating is marked down 1500lbs in the manual, becuase people just dont know how to drive it. Excelleration is excellent, top end isnt bad...but its high. But, its also a truck, not a car on stilts. Dont buy this truck if you want luxury, or are just going to stay on- road. Its plainly ugly, but it does go every where and anywhere. I love the practicality and ruggedness of this truck.

A Sporty Sport Utility - 2004 Nissan Xterra
By Non-X-Terra-Driver - January 10 - 10:00 amPerfect if you want a SUV that can go off road without hurting its feelings and you want to feel like you are in something sporty. Drives like compact pickups (well that is what it is built off of). Plenty of places to tie down cargo inside and out. Dont get it if you plan to stay in the suburbs all your driving time. Perfect if you are into the outdoors like hiking, biking, camping, hunting, fishing, etc.
