Overview & Reviews
A truck-based mini-SUV, the athletic new Xterra competes with several smaller vehicles built on car platforms.
- Rugged looks and capability to match, excellent brakes, lots of room inside, standard ABS.
- Based on a truck, it steers like a truck (read: numb).

Bad Start - 2000 Nissan Xterra
By Mrdegu - August 12 - 10:00 amThis thing was trouble as soon as i got it. I had maybe 5K on it when the A/C compressor goes on me. Little things in the car were breaking rather easily, such as the handle to move the angle of the seat. The distributor cap craked on me at 13K and then the distributor then went 2k after that. I was left stranded on the highway twice because of this. The 4wd would not work properly all the time. The dealership was not very helpfull either. Over all i had a very bad experience with the truck, the dealership and Nissan all together....i will never buy Nissan again.

X Terror - 2000 Nissan Xterra
By Js_brady - June 17 - 2:00 amThis vehicle looks great BUT the 2000 model is severely lacking in interior design. I have had my XTerra in the local shop close to 30 times in the past year. It took about 7 visits just for them to do an alignment, 4 visits to replace the intake manifold, 3 visits to replace the window seals on both of the front windows. So on and so forth.
