Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Still fun after 1-1/2 Years - 2004 Nissan Murano
By robreb - January 27 - 10:00 amI have 18,000 miles on my Murano and I still smile when I drive it. I did have to have the alternator replaced recently when it failed. Nissan knows about this issue on some Muranos and paid for the tow and replacement. have a friend with a 500 Mercedes SUV who is amazed at the comfort and performance of my car - for a lot less $$. Back seat fits tall guys and interior can hold a ton of stuff. I changed oil to Mobile 1 at first change and mileage improved right away. In heavy traffic I get close to 20, on the highway as much as 25. I have a few minor issues with the car but cannot think of a single vehicle I would prefer to drive. Acceleration is smooth and quick.

2005 Murano SL - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Orange County Ca - January 27 - 6:30 amFun car to drive. Extremely roomy inside. Visibility is surprisingly good with only small blind spots in rear. The cloth seats can build up a severe static charge. Static guard does seem to help.

Great SUV but styling no longer excites - 2006 Nissan Murano
By thegmen - January 26 - 1:26 amIts reliable, comfortable and well made. Best vehicle Ive ever owned. Interior materials not as premium as they look. Leather wrinkles on drivers seat have begun to crack thru. Simulated alloy trim on center console dents easily.

Great Vehicle; Fuel Economy Surprise - 2003 Nissan Murano
By SmOkEy - January 24 - 2:00 amI love this vehicle. It drives and handles very similarly to a sedan and gets me through the 12-18inches of snow that we occasionally get here. Plus it is very fast for its size. The stereo an six disc changer are very nice as well. Finally, the curb appeal is definitely there. My wife (who drives most of the time) was asked about the Murano every day for the first two weeks that we owned it. The only hitch is that I am getting 7-10 mpg less than the average that was advertised and 5- 8mpg less than the minimum stated in the drivers manual.

stop reading, go buy it - 2003 Nissan Murano
By P Tork - January 24 - 2:00 amThe vehicle is amazing. The transmission has no gears (regardless Camiles review saying it changes gears smoothly)so it always picks the best ratio. Climbing a hill, passing, or cruising. These new 3.5 engines are the best ever built. All aluminum, 100,000 mile EVERYTHING except fluids. They use the 3.5 in all their vehicles now, and tune them accordingly. Thats why the 350Z has over 280HP. The Muranos engine can make the same power, they just detune it. Which means its running in a mild state of tune which means its not stressed which means it will run forever.

Excellent choice - 2010 Nissan Murano
By ihab - January 16 - 10:06 pmI had my murano for 3 months now. It has all the bells and whistles. Traded my 2006 pilot for the Murano. I do not regret the decision. Very well build interior. Premium materials. Excellent quality. My only complain so far is the GPS features are limited while driving. Most of the features can not be access while driving. So-so fuel economy. Limited voice commands compared to the Pilot
