Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

This car was purchased based on design, it is used in every day work, driving some times more than 100 miles daily, but maybe is that I have bad luck or something because right now the car is in the agency with a computer problem and they have to replace it and they dont have a real answer to that

This SUV drives like a BMW 328. Hugs the road in luxury, refined over bumps, takes off in a flash, mileage isnt too bad. A lot of city and some freeway avg. is 20.5. This is my first Nissan but I feel like I have an upgraded Infiniti for $10K less. Im 6 3" and I have a lot of room to spare. Backseat is huge.

I traded an F150 crew cab 4x4 for the Murano as I needed city-type efficiency. It was great to get rid of the lumbering behemoth for a nimble little grocery getter. I am 6 feet 240 pounds and the comfort of the drivers seat practically sold me with all its electrical toys. I enjoy the Bose/MPS stereo and mileage has been a solid 20 MPG in town. Very comfortable for 4 adults. I consider it a very pragmatic vehicle thats fun.

  • Nice cross over - 2004 Nissan Murano

Spent months looking for a reliable, easy to own vehicle that is good in the snow. So far, Ive found the Murano to be a nice compromise between sedan and traditional SUV. Less truck like than many competitors. Roomier than it appears to be from the outside.

  • Great at first, became a cash-hog - 2005 Nissan Murano

I really enjoyed the amenities that I had never had in a car before. The stereo was awesome, seats were comfy and heated, adjustable everything. 2.5 years later routine maintenance is super-expensive and gas mileage is 19 with mostly highway driving. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE driving this car. It is still the most comfortable car Ive owned. The styling is great, and the interior is sleek and modern. If it wasnt for the continuing extreme kicks in the wallet Id run it into the ground!

  • I cant say enough about my Murano... - 2006 Nissan Murano

Ive had my Murano for about 3 weeks now and I love it. Its a great balance of all the things youd expect in a vehicle. I have a great respect for this vehicle and Nissan altogether. It was really put to the test during this snow storm that we had. I didnt have to dig nothing. I just put it in drive and went. Thats what I call a kicking SUV. Id recommend anyone who wants a SUV to check out the Murano....You will not be disappointed.

  • My Land Yacht :) - 2016 Nissan Murano

This is my 4th Murano and each one is an improvement over the last one and I am extremely pleased with this. The 2016 replaced my 2014 which I loved and intended to keep for a long time but when an out of state driver plowed into me it totaled it but I was fine inside so I am very happy with its "crash response" . I promptly went out and purchased the 2016 and have been very happy with it....so comfortable, plenty of space for cargo and friends-- can not recommend this vehicle enough...I also have a GLK350 which is nice but this has more space and honestly more "gadgets which I love and you can not beat the value. I am so pleased with the Murano I gave my son the Mercedes both are excellent cars but for me I prefer the Murano

I own the SL AWD and love the design inside and out.I chose the SL as opposed to the SE, because I like a softer ride more than the sportier feel. I have not been disappointed. It has a roomy, comfortable interior, along with a smooth & comfortable ride. The no-shift transmission is smooth but does take some getting used to. The CRV is fun to drive and handles great. So far I would highly recommend this vehicle, Im very pleased with it. I did my homework on it before my purchase, and also a big part of my buying decision was the Nissan reputation. I would like to be asked to give my feedback 3-4 years down the line, than I can really give you my honest opinion.

Purchased the sl awd model in july of 04. Wife has driven it now 21000 miles. It has averaged over an entire week 22-24 mpg that is city and highway driving combined. they told us when we purchased it that it wouldnt start getting its best mileage until about 10,000 miles and they were right. Love the ride and comfort, great stereo, and for an SUV I find it to be rather fun to drive and quite peppy. The CVT doesnt seem to sap that much power.

  • poor gas milage - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

The Murano is a nice car but the gas mileage stinks. although it says 20 mpg in the city and 25 on highway on the posted window tag, the real truth is 15 mpg city driving. The dealer told me to switch to high test gas and I did. now I get 15.7 mpg. I dont rough ride the car and dont pull out fast from stops. I had a nissan Max before and was satisfied with 20 mpg. so this is a big drop, especially when gas was 4.00 per gal. The interior came only in black or Tan. Not much of a choice. It does have a lot of room and has a good ride, city and highway. I have a 2007....
