This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • A FANTASTIC SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

I carefully researched Toyota Highlander, Santa Fe, and Honda Pilot. It came down to Highlander or Murano. Murano won hands down in terms of style, ride, fuel economy, and what you get for your money. Then there was the cost. Murano is not cheap, but Executive Nissan provided me with the best car-buying experiences I have ever had: I was treated with respect and got a great deal. Toyota refused to deal on the Highlander and wanted too much money. This is a gorgeous and outstanding vehicle and it drives like a dream! I love it.

Ive owned my Murano for a month now, and it has not disappointed me yet. I am the envy of all my friends. To think, I was actually going to get the Highlander....HA! This is 200% better.

  • Infiniti in disguise - 2003 Nissan Murano

From the first drive you wonder how Nissan pulled this off. This is so much like an Infiniti in power and handling that nothing but admiration comes from using this car/suv. It is solid, stylish, fast, precise in its handling. The controls have been well thought-out. There is a lot of room for storage. The seats are firm and comfortable for long drives. The fit and finish are excellent. I think this is a real bargain. What can I say about the design? COOL!

  • Its got it all - 2003 Nissan Murano

Really an amazing vehicle. Nissan gets it! The car has a great ride (love the CVT), every convenience built in, an awesome stereo, great styling, decent gas mileage for an SUV, very roomy, sunroof, AWD, better than average horsepower, and all at a reasonable price for what you get. Ive driven BMWs before this car. Why bother paying the extra $ unless status in your neighborhood means that much to you! The navigation system is pretty cool too.

Great power, acceleration and ride - very fuel efficient on long trips - have owned the car for 3 months now, and have nothing to complain about. The CVT is smooth and gives low rpmss and noice. Navigation system is great, good screen quality, even in sunlight. Spacious design.

Ride is smooth very quite and comfortable. Took driving vacation within 6 weeks of purchase through mountains of southern Oregon northern California then over the "grapevine" into LA without a hitch. Fuel economy nearly right on with epa estimates but since has improved to the point purchasing premium fuel is not a pain.

  • Cool Car - 2003 Nissan Murano

Have owned the car for a couple of weeks. Its a great SUV. Bought it with all the bells and whisles, and love the features. Performance is super. Only 2 SUVs can blow this off the road, one is the Porsche SUV turbo other is the Infinity FX 45. Also, more powerful than many sports cars out there. And the 30-70 acceleration will leave some of these sports car guys scrathing their head. I wish I could see the expression on their face, but, they are always in the rear view mirror. If your looking for an SUV with performance at a great price, then, this is the one for you! And, rpm wise, crusing at 70 mph, with the rpms turning just above idle (1500rpm)) unbeleivable.

Thie Murano is a blast to drive both long and short trips!

  • Murano Rocks! - 2003 Nissan Murano

Without a doubt, the best car Ive ever owned! Stylish looks, comfortable interior, killer Bose sound, sharp handling, rock solid construction and responsive pickup are a few of the many features I enjoy. Im not sure what all the fuss is about the CVT as Ive noticed no lack of power at any time, but then Im not a speed demon. The ride in the back is roomy and comfortable and I get tons of compliments wherever I go. Closely styled like the Lexus RX 350 but a lot less $$.

This has been a great vehicle to own. Of particular pleasure is the CVT transmission, which is incredibly smooth, as well as having a sport mode which allows better acceleration and engine braking, albeit at the price of some fuel economy.
