Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Excellent automobile with extras - 2004 Nissan Murano
By ROBERT BAER - July 22 - 10:00 amI was amazed. It drives very good and has several interior features such as a unual dash board and a satelite cirius radio. All these features at a very reasonable price. This vehicle will be greatly imitated by other companies.

Former Jeep Grand Cherokee owner - 2007 Nissan Murano
By Mike L. - July 22 - 12:46 amI have 7500 mi on my Murano and it has delivered more than I expected. My Murano does 0-60 in 7.5 sec. The Murano handling is quite good and the CVT is great in hilly traveling where standard transmission would be shifting and bucking up the hills.

New 09 Traded 05 Caddy SRX - 2009 Nissan Murano
By TJW - July 19 - 4:56 pmJust purchased the LE and am very happy. Interior space is great and love the exterior appearance. Traded my SRX after too many problems with engine, oversized moonroof, etc. Too early to tell on gas mileage but after looking all the domestic and import SUVs, this one won hands down. The only nit and it is barely that, is that it leans a bit in corners.

Cant drive very well over 65 mph - 2003 Nissan Murano
By tauris2000 - July 16 - 11:26 pmI am having trouble driving my 2003 Nissan Murano over 65 mph on the highway. It revs really high and then engine sounds like it is going to explode. It seems like it is already in the highest gear possible and it of course wont shift any higher. I am afraid to take it out of town on longer highway trips because of this. I have an extended warranty but dont know what the problem is or if it would be covered. I have taken it to one Nissan Dealer and one Carmax dealer and neither have been able to diagnose a problem. They also arent allowed to take it out on the highway which seems absurd. Any input would be much appreciated.

nice car - 2003 Nissan Murano
By indywoods - July 14 - 10:00 ami like this car. its fun to drive, very responsive, and has tons of room. negatives: I do not like the blind spot and I do wish the gas mileage was better. Its really a ingenious design and gets lots of looks. The stability is a big improvement over the Pathfinder.

Lazy doesnt pay - 2016 Nissan Murano
By J Friend - July 12 - 10:30 pmOnly had the car about 5 weeks and the only complaint so far is that after you have dropped the rear seats for cargo or dog space, they return by motors. The problem is that the headrest will not permit them to come back up without moving the front seat backs or the whole front seat. I called the dealer and they said it was just the way it was manufactured and we could remove the rear headrest. Not. They are hard to straighten manually (I assume because of the motors).

2005 Nissan Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Chris Landis - July 12 - 1:53 pmafter my first service with another dealership I had a bad service with them, with a shimmy in the steering wheel, never had it until they did the service, so I went back to the dealer that I bought the Murano from and they have been great. They are the ones that fixed the shimmy in it. The other dealership had it out of line totally.

Love this car - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Tom G - July 9 - 8:31 pmThis is our 2nd new Murano. We had a used one prior and it had over 170,000 miles before we decided to sell it. We traded it in for a 2015 SL front wheel drive with all the extras. We loved it, but unfortunately my wife had someone make a left turn directly in front of her, in a Ford Expedition, causing major damage. Our new loved car was totaled. Luckily the Murano had an over abundant amount of airbags, which covered my wife all around the vehicle, all the way back to the side rear windows. As well as an airbag covering her feet and legs, amazing. Our insurance did its job but we had to locate another vehicle. Well we loved our 15 Murano so well, we started looking at the 2016 Murano. We located and then purchased a 2016 Murano. The Premium model had AWD, and many new added features. And you know it, we got it at a better price than we paid for the 2015. It is a very safe vehicle and rides as nice as any luxury car weve owned. We are very happy with our choice. *****
