Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Wow!! - 2006 Nissan Murano
By hlrdh - October 15 - 3:30 amI drove a Toyota Highlander for 5 years and a Honda Passport for 5 years before that...I feel like I won the lottery with this car. It drives great...a real sporty feel. Good gas mileage.

Good car - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Dobs - October 14 - 8:40 amWe love our Murano, because of its reliability and strong engine. We would buy another one if they would change the seat design. After long drives, it becomes very uncomfortable. Other than that, it is a great car for a family, couple or single.

The most car fun Ive had in years - 2006 Nissan Murano
By dml - October 13 - 11:13 pmNot since my first Maxima years ago have I experienced so much pleasure in driving a vehcile. There is nothing about the Murano that I dont like - its comfortable, well-appointed and well-designed, and an absolute delight to drive. The CVT is addictive - once you get used to it, youll never want to go back. I actually dont mind my hour commute each day to and from work, now. Always a Nissan fan, but now Im reminded why!

Practical, Comfort and Elegance in One! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Akuyek - October 13 - 12:56 amI have this car for almost 3 years yet it still takes my breath away. Surefooted in slippery snow, at sharp corners or blasting through a hazard situation - in luxurious comfort. Its like commanding a magical creature morphed and have the agility of a unicorn, the elegance of a swan and the stability of a bullfrog.

Me Likey My Murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By waits211 - October 12 - 9:56 pmMurano is better than I thought. I test drove it, actually wanted the fx35 but wife talked me down. I enjoy everything about this car except for 2 things. 1)blind spot. I put in a small mirror on the passenger side mirror and that fixed it 2)gas milage. I expected this to do much better than my pathfinder but it doesnt. I do all city driving. Stop and go. I get around 16mpg. Highway puts me in the low-mid 20s. I dont use premium and dont feel a difference when I do. All in all Nissan builds great cars but the dealerships and service is terrible.

2003 Nissan Murano SL AWD - 2003 Nissan Murano
By David - October 5 - 11:50 pmThis has got to be the best car for performance, utility, exterior styling, interior styling, quality build, and just plain "you just want to drive the thing". I got it in 2003 and still think its the best midsize SUV on the market. All of my kids friends want to be seen in it. Yes, I love the car.

What was I thinking? - 2005 Nissan Murano
By fancypants1 - October 3 - 9:06 pmI traded my lovely trouble free Honda Accord for this 2005 Murano SL with 82k miles. Was told the previous owner babied this vehicle. The leather is practically perfect so I was like ok. Week 1--the battery dies. I replaced a 2005 Nissan Factory battery in 2013!! With a J-05 code on it. Even after I replaced the battery the car wouldnt start. I tell the dealer I bought it from they cant look at it until monday. I finally get it started but I smell gas just briefly. I make it to dealer only to have the service guy tell me he cant look at it. grrr. I drive back and my gas level depletes pretty quickly. Glad I made it home. I ended up walking to work as I am now out of gas.
