This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

We traded our 2002 Altima V-6 for the Murano (black) and havent regretted it since. This SUV lives up to its billing. Gas mileage is good considering all the other SUV mpgs but not up to specs. It has power as well. The transmission is awesome (so smooth!!!)I am still exploring all the gadgets. (We purchased everything we could for this car: Leather pkg, sunroof, cargo cover and mat, etc...) rear seats recline (cool)then fold flat for cargo space.

Out of curiosity I test drove the Murano SL and feel in love with it. A week later I drove one home and it rocks! Ive always owned Ford vehicles but wanted something new. Ive read other reviews complaining about engine noise or poor interior quality. They must be tripping or are talking about some other vehicle because thats not the case with the Murano! It compares to others that sell for $5K to $15K higher. Drive one and see for yourself how fun the Murano is.

I read all the reviews here before buying, and now that I have the vehicle, i think its so funny what some of the others say! The ride is so smooth, it drives like a sports car, and i keep finding new features i didnt know about everyday! I trading in my bmw for this, and I turn alot more heads now! And the soundsystem! Wow!

Entered dealership for service and struck up a conversation with one of the salesmen while waiting. Chatted about the Murano being a hybrid and went for a test drive and was sold. So,I traded in my 1996 Nissan Pathfinder for this amazing vehicle. Totally looking forward to taking the Murano out in inclement weather to see how it performs. Has so far handled exceptionally well in heavy rain and is amazingly comfortable to drive.

Supremely comfortable, one of very few vehicles where I can fully extend my very long legs. Very spacious. Leather seats offer great comfort. Amber gauges recall the magical glow of antique radio dials, while still high tech and futuristic. Engine is incredibly strong and smooth. Shiftless transmission is a pleasure. Mileage is great while commuting, but disappointing on long trips....like overdrive gearing was forgotten. Concerns...I hit a bump last week, and the alternator went out. Overall, the package rates as best vehicle I ever owned. Highlander rides better, but otherwise cant compare. Braking, handling and engine have to be tops in class.

  • More than expected - 2003 Nissan Murano

After driving my Murano through the mountains of Colorado during the summer, I was anxious to see how comfortable it would be on a long road trip. Driving through the mountains was fun as it held the curves with very little or no sway at high speeds. I took a 2600 mile round trip through Texas and was suprised at the comfort for all passengers and also at the good gas mileage.

After a 12 months and 12K miles, this SUV contiues to delight my family. Its been absolutely reliable. The ride is firm and sporty, high seating postion offers good sight line for easy manuvering on the freeway. Ample ground clearance takes the worry out of exploring that dirt lane or that rough pavement, yet step in height is easy. The seating and interior space are very comfortable, and the leg room in back is surprising. The Murano is bigger on the inside than it looks. The kids dont get cramped on long car rides and there is even room for the dogs in the back. Speed, handling, looks, creature comforts and carrying capacity, this SUV is very versatile.

  • Better Than I Imagined - 2003 Nissan Murano

Bought my loaded Murano about two weeks ago. Its a dream in many ways: ride, stereo, seating comfort, controls. My first choice was the Lexus 330, but for the price, the Murano is a much better deal. Got mine for MSRP out the door. Buy one of these if you want a reasonably priced sporty SUV with the comfort of a sedan and the utility of an SUV.

  • So far, so good - 2003 Nissan Murano

Just picked up the car. After driving 500 miles in 3 days I am very impressed. Comfortable and a lot of little details make this car very convenient. Love how the seats fold, the navigation works and seems very solid.
