Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Bobs Murano review - 2003 Nissan Murano
By phillylion - January 1 - 10:00 amExcellent vehicle. Drives very car- like with great handling and performance. The features include things that most other similar vehicles dont offer such as stability and traction control. The gas mileage seems better than most SUVs with around 20 combined highway/city. No problems, noises, or rattles, as some have reported.

A Pleasant Surprise - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Manny - December 29 - 4:50 amI recently purchased a Nissan Murano after doing an extensive search on mid- size SUVs. While looking, I hadnt even considered this vehicle as an option, but after sitting in it at an auto show, my curiosity was piqued. It has all the features I was looking for in an SUV (pick-up, size, speed, features), plus some added bonuses like lots of cargo space and tons of safety features. From reviews, it sounds like the reliability is good and the gas and emissions ratings (important in California) are pretty decent. Its got awesome pick-up and drives and handles like a car. I was interested in "pilot- ing" it until this came along. I was sold.

I was pleased until recently - 2005 Nissan Murano
By ds foley - December 20 - 10:23 amI have loved this car since I purchased it! I am in sales and live in my car during the day and had no problems until the past six months. It has been noisy for quite a while but after changing the tires and both hub assemblies we determined that it was the transmission. This car has 130,000 miles on it and is a 2005. Ive probably had noise for at least 30,000 miles. The dealer is the only one that can do the work and its expensive. I still dont know what Im going to do. Ive already put a lot of money into it this year. Im so disappointed. Ive owned a number of cars and have never had a problem of this magnitude at such a low mileage.

Love it so far - 2010 Nissan Murano
By creaseys - December 18 - 2:06 pmThis is my first crossover, I love it. I have been getting between 23 and 24.5 mpg (mostly rural) about 25% city driving. Its the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned. It amazes me how much room is in the front sits. It handles highway driving and hills like it has more than 265 hp.

Worst Car Ever - 2005 Nissan Murano
By som2 - December 17 - 10:29 pmMy car from the time of purchase has only been service by nissan dealership. I have replaced everything from belts to last a motor. Now they are telling me that its the catalytic converter. Nissan should be ashamed of themselves for passing this pretty body off as car.

A Great Ride - 2009 Nissan Murano
By dp4c - December 16 - 11:50 pmTraded in a 2005 Mazda 6 Wagon and considered the Subaru Outback, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Toyota Highlander also. The ride is quiet and comfortable and the CVT operates great. Good acceleration and power delivery whenever you need it. As far as bang for the buck, none of the other cars I considered compares. The interior is of high quality materials, especially considering the price. One thing I dont like is the sound system. It is way too bright though it doesnt seem to be an opinion shared by others. The dash speakers blare so I had to go an aftermarket route to tone down the higher frequencies. Do we really need 11 speakers all heavily equalized?
