Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • The super engined SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

The best engine on the market. The CVT is smooth and responsive. Holds the road surprising well for a SUV. Not had it long enough to properly evaluate reliability, but it seems fine. Beautiful exterior styling, with 18" wheels. Love it or hate it interior styling (I love it). Good quality materials used in seats, dash, etc. All in all an excellent used car buy.

The Murano is a fun, reliable and relatively inexpensive cross-over SUV. Frankly, I like the somewhat unusual design. Ive had my Murano in Europe now for about 6 months and it gets a lot of attention. In the land of BMW X5s and X3s, Mercs and Rovers, it nice to know that Ive got a really great preformer with solid workmanship for a fraction of the cost of the other SUVs. I appreciate the looks of approval from the drivers of the competition.

I rode 5,000 miles in the back seat this past summer and that was not a comfortable ride AT ALL! Other than that I have no "major" complaint - it is so much fun to drive - especially around town.

  • Great SUV - 2009 Nissan Murano

Unbelievable value and more comfortable than my Lexus RX. Also, theres no shift shock so you pick up speed very quickly. The rear seats recline and have alot of leg room. The illumated gauges and the chrome interior finish have a sports car feel. Go with the front wheel drive version instead of AWD and save money.

  • What a surprise!! - 2011 Nissan Murano

I had my head set on the Ford Edge, being a Ford customer for nearly 20 years. We drove the Lincoln equivalent, finding it disappointingly noisy. We were introduced to the Nissan LE and it was love before we even got out of the parking lot. Test drive just sealed the deal. We bought used, so color availability was a compromise, but Im getting used to it and love the tan interier and all of the "toys". Cant wait to use the Music box - fortunately last owner must have been in our age group as her downloaded music suits us fine and gives us some enjoyment while learning all about our new vehicle.

  • God I Love The Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I now have owned this vehicle about 6 weeks now and I think its great. Ive always been a Nissan fan and once again they provide another reason to be one. It looks and handles like nothing Ive ever driven. I actually cant believe I own an SUV but this is so different...My only concern is with the SE model. I notice some rattles at times that make me concerned for the long term. SE ride is a little too harsh.

fantastic. so cool, super lux feeling (sl w/ leather package) sunlit copper w/ cabernet leather interior. nice and wide, super smooth, xtra stytlish and a super attention getter. sleeker and more stylish than the x5, lexus, or mdx, with perfect performance.

  • THE COMPLETE URBAN SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

THIS VEHICLE IS THE COMPLETE PACKAGE. THE RIDE AND COMFORD OF A LUXURY SEDAN. THE STYLING AND POWER OF A SPORTS SEDAN,YET THE STRENGTH OF A SUV. I CANT BELIEVE THE GREAT GAS MILAGE, 23-25 AVERAGE, AND ITS ALMOST 4,000LBS. SIMPLY THE BEST VEHICLE IVE EVER OWNED. THERE WERE TWO REVIEWS THAT COME TO MIND, ONE MENTIONED CARDBOARD THE OTHER CLUE ON PARTS. WHAT WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT? IM CONFUSED, THEY MUST HAVE GOTTEN THERE REVIEWS MIXED UP.

  • Very Impressive - 2003 Nissan Murano

I traded in my Pathfinder for a Murano. I have 400 miles and counting, great vehicle. In the Blizzard of 03, it handled very good, but, the pathfinder was better in that type of weather. gas mileage running about 19.5 so far on engine breakin.

  • Have it for 2 weeks - 2003 Nissan Murano

Looks are distinctive and aerodynamic. Good power, very smooth engine. Feels stable around town. Very easy to get in and out of. Sound system is great. Lots of room for all 5 passengers. Preferred this over Pilot, Highlander, even the Rx300 (2K less). Only 1 complaint-Had to carry a big piece of plywood and there is no way to attach bungy to back door.
