Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Happy with our Murano - 2010 Nissan Murano

Bought the SL AWD with Premium, Leather and Moonroof package. We were looking for a crossover for 18 months. Seriously considered Chevy Equinox/GMC Terrain and GMC Acadia. Settled on Murano do to performance (at the cost of fuel efficiency) and styling. We are very glad we waited for 2010 model since it is a cosmetic improvement on 2009. We are extremely happy with decision as car is a joy to drive. We have had no issues although we are still only 3000 miles into ownership.

I chose the Murano S. I find my new vehicle fun to drive and easy to navigate. Its reliable and I love the design of the vehicle, both the interior and the exterior.

  • Our Lexus Replacement - 2009 Nissan Murano

We have been toyota/Lexus people for going on 30 years now, and have had excellent luck with all the differing vehicles. When it came time to trade in our RX330, we did a lot of research, driving and evaluating of the Crossover offerings. The new RX left us cold, Lexus just wasnt daring enough, and its rather bland. We tried the Venza, the Q5, and the Mazdas, all of which left us unimpressed. A friend suggested we try the new Murano - easily competitive with the RX, has an unforgettable exterior, and the interior is superbly screwed together. The Murano certainly rivels the Lexus RX for quite and luxury. So far, we are very impressed with the ride and handling.

  • Excellent All Rounder - 2003 Nissan Murano

I have consistently for the past 4 months including winter driving gotten 18 mpg city. For a solid cross over AWD with a V-6 in excess of 240 hp, there is not a competitor that really offers any better unless you look at hybrids. I bought mine used with low miles (29k). It is a very competent and comfortable vehicle. On worn OEM tires it performs well in 10 inch deep snow in the canyon roads west of Boulder. This has been rectified in later years. Better MPG than Pilot, Highlander, 4Runner. I spent months researching!

  • Turbine-like performance - 2004 Nissan Murano

This is, by far, the smoothest, most powerful vehicle that I have ever owned. This is the first non-BMW or Mercedes that I have owned and it has far exceeded my expectations. I like almost everything about it, and so do my envious friends whom I let drive it on occaision. Drive it = buy it.

  • what a treat to drive ! - 2004 Nissan Murano

I was a little nervous about stability and rollover as this is my first suv; with those 18" wheels and wide track, this vehicle corners better than my old vw passat

  • Enjoying New SE - 2005 Nissan Murano

Bought one of the last new Murano SEs. Enjoying this vehicle very much. Rides very car like and performs like a sports car. CVT is very quite and smooth.

Style and comfort. Rides smoothly, accelerates smoothly. Plenty of power and lots of room. Constantly amazed at the hauling capacity. Highly recommend.

  • best decision - 2004 Nissan Murano

I test drove just about every thing available. Infiniti (loved it but 10K higher), Lexus 330, inderpowered and over priced, BMW, same. This is the best car for the price. Quality is high, excellent sound system. Great styling. People ask my about the car all the time. Definately drive this car if your looking in this market.
