Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Great Vehicle - 2009 Nissan Murano
By 60Chevy - May 16 - 2:36 pmI was looking for a new car since November 2007. I looked at the Lincoln MKX, Ford Edge and the Lexus RX350, which I came very close to purchasing. Then I saw the new 2009 Murano. Having never owned a Nissan before, only Toyotas, I was a bit concerned but this vehicle is great. It is much more technology advanced than the Lexus. I find the Muranos seats are great. Not hard whatsoever. The fuel economy is great. Getting 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

great car, some squeaks and creaks - 2003 Nissan Murano
By guyincity - May 14 - 10:00 amThis is a great car, I have no regrets but the persistant creaking coming from the pillars between the front and rear doors could be a sign of poor structural design or poor build quality. We will see. The center console is really confusing, I need to study the manual. Aside from that its an all around great car giving me good utility ,looks, speed and handling. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has had this problem.

Love at first sight! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Juston - May 14 - 10:00 amWeve had our Murano for two weeks now and we love it. This is the only SUV that my wife and I could agree on. We looked at all of them. I find myself looking for reasons to go places just so that I can drive it. Its only flaw is the cabin pressure that is created when only the back widows are down while moving.

The Z of SUVs - 2003 Nissan Murano
By jes7 - May 14 - 2:00 amThe Murano handles, accelerates, and brakes like (or better than) a mid-size sedan. Acceleration is outstanding, and interior cabin noise is amazingly low. Style is great- if you dont want a box on wheels, take a look at the Murano.

Not Reliable! - 2009 Nissan Murano
By achilles5433 - May 12 - 5:57 amI bought my 2009 Murano new and within the first year my battery died listening to music in my car for 10 mins. I had battery checked and they said its fine. After that I made sure no interior lights or seat warmers were left on and still got stuck 4 more times!! Cant get rid of this car fast enough. Reliability is everything!! Even though its awd, its not that good in snow compared to my other vehicles. I replaced tires to snow tires and helped a little. But after they changed tires, the tire maintance light went on and wont go off. Hate the start button feature. Both my key batteries are low already. Have to go to dealership to replace. Also costs over $200 to replace if lost.

No Mo Murano - 2009 Nissan Murano
By roadrunner - May 10 - 3:50 pmThe Murano is a good looking vehicle, and really nice to drive. The seats are comfortable and the drivers compartment fits like a glove. Everything you need to control the car and comforts is within easy reach. I always enjoy driving it.

Murano Houston - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Georgia Rennick - May 9 - 10:00 amThe Nissan Murano is a utility vehicle with the heart and performance of a sports car. I have been driving vans and SUVs for the past 10 years. This vehicle has been the most fun to drive, but it still has all the utility capacity I will ever need. So far at 3,000 miles I have not experienced any service problems. It holds the road, the cvt transmission gives you a smooth quick acceleration without shift points. It just goes!

Great replacement for the Maxima - 2003 Nissan Murano
By ehylee - May 9 - 10:00 amI purchased the Murano because I needed better traction in the snow than my 97 Maxima could give me. So far, the car has been great. Fuel economy is not stellar, not even to EPA specs but the Maxima never made it that high either. I have a few of the usual Nissan rattles here and there, but its a Nissan, not Toyota, so no complaints here. The power port is very poorly placed - in the center console and on the passenger side - they are both inconvenient for charging cell phones. The rear hatch power port does not function unless the ignition is on ACC - another poor design.

Great for most, perfect for me. - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Murano Matt - May 2 - 10:00 amGreat looks, great ride, extraordinary CVT transmission. This is a drivers SUV, the first one I have ever driven, you can take a corner like a sports sedan without being pushed tward the outside door. Quality and refinedment inside the vehicle is top notch leather or cloth. But the real plus here is the transmission. The CVT is incredable, so smooth and powerful. The transmission does all the work so the engine never revs hard resulting in an overall quiet ride. The Murano is very functional with a ton of room inside. To sum it up the Murano is fast and functional for an SUV. Rather than being half car half truck IT IS HALF CAR HALF SUV.
