Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Allen Arndt - July 10 - 2:06 amOur Murano is operated in very harsh enviroment in Minnesota and just keeps running perfectly. Maintenance is easy and i put new brake pads on at 60k miles. The finish is standing uo very well considering tree branch contact. Compared to my friends Lexus it rides better and we the CVT. I will buy one again unless they make changes that detract from its current performance. I almost forgot my wife hit in a parking lot in the left rear and bumper was damaged. I pulled it out by hand and it popped in shape and only minor scratches. I fix that problem in the spring. We feel very good about our murano and I feel its refined enough almost anyone taste.

Sporty Luxury - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Erik - July 9 - 5:30 amThis car is pretty luxurious for not being a "luxury car." The 245hp is quite nice, especially compared to my last car -- a 150hp Honda. I never thought that an SUV could be fun to drive, but thanks to the power, its sure fun to stomp on the accelerator! The CVT helps provide an amazingly smooth ride without lurching for gear changes. The exterior styling turns heads, and the HID lamps really light up the road ahead. The height of the cabin is perfect for an effortless entrance and egress, while the leather heated seats are soft to the touch, but firm in support. The interior is quite spacious and with real aluminum trim gives the feel of sporty luxury.

Fun to drive - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Andrey - July 8 - 7:46 amI am 63, my wife is 53 and we both feel very comfortable behind the Muranos wheel. Performance is great, great brakes, flat cornering. Although suspention is tight, ride is smooth. Bunch of space for rear-seet passengers. My Murano is still breaking-in, so MPG is not 20, but is improving with every tank (from 14.6 to 17.6, city driving)

Two Question on my Murano SL FWD - 2004 Nissan Murano
By UlaUla - July 4 - 10:00 amToo many positve evaluations. However, I noticed that: (1) I have never got the 25MPG fuel economy on highway with a speed of 70MPH, only about 22MPG. (2) When I try to accelerate the car (not very sudden) at low speed (<20MPH) I find that the engines revolution has a slight shift down (i.e. from 1800rpm to 1500rpm), and then stay at that revolution with an increasing speed; on the contrary, when I try to slow down the car, at the speed of 15MPH I find that the revolution has another shift up (i.e. from 1100rpm to 1500rpm), and then goes back to 1100rpm with a decreasing speed. Anybody noticed same phenomenas? Comments are welcome to lishu998@hotmail.com.

So far, so good - 2004 Nissan Murano
By lorigct - July 4 - 10:00 amNone of the SUVs in the market appealed to me but living in NE I needed something reliable for the winter. Murano offered the AWD plus the nice luxury like look. Took 2 long trips and was very confortable. Fun to drive, however, watch out for the blind spots! The paint seems to be very delicate (already showing some chips and I am not a commuter!)

Love it - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Rev. Bruce - July 4 - 10:00 amThis is the most fun drive since my old Honda Prelude in 80. Quality of build is top notch, it does everything I ask even recreating the Cabot Trail Advertisement this year! Did fine off road on mountain trails, smooth ride, plenty of power. Center console is a bit awkward and the engineers should have included Mph/Kph conversion on the English/Metric Converter! Dont understand why no running lights on US models, just a cheap relay. Huge room in the back seat, enormous leg room in the front. This SUV is awesome, like driving a luxury car that goes like heck and pushes through snow like its nothing. Safe and steady and Fast, wish heated cloth seats were available. Id buy it again.
