Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • Great Ride - 2005 Nissan Murano

This is a great ride. The transmission took some getting used too, but now I just love it. The only cons I have is that I would like more trunk room and add some sound proffing. I have the nav. system in mine and would not buy another auto without it.

  • Perfect, if you never have a flat tire - 2004 Nissan Murano

Nissan Murano has a different sized wheel well. At this time, most tire shops do not carry this size of tire. In addition, there are no studded snow tires available and the tire chains are special order. And there isnt a full size spare.

Fun vehicle to drive and a real head turner. Average highway gas mileage is 25 to 26, town is 21. As usual with Nissan, pick it up in the showroom, return it in 36 months,....no repairs in between!!

This was my wifes car. We both absolutely loved it. One morning at o dark thirty, my wife was on the way to work with our grandson in the car to drop him off at daycare. The car started slowing down to the point that it wouldnt go any further. My wife and grandson were stranded on a dark highway with no street lights. Bottom line, at 40000 miles the transmission went out. The car has been at the dealership for over a week now. They are waiting on a new transmission to come in. It projected to to be ready next week. Ill believe that when I see it. In the mean time, Im stuck paying $200 a week for a rental car. Nissan wont pay the rental car even though its a warranty service issue.

  • Great Car, OK price - 2007 Nissan Murano

I get just over 20 mpg which I think is very good for this size car. I have had no problems with it through 32K miles. I got in one accident with it (I was rear ended at highway speeds), and it was very sturdy. I barely felt the impact. So for safety, this car gets an A+ in my book. The acceleration is fairly good for this segment. It feels lighter than it is when accelerating and passing on the highway. The interior is extremely comfortable and have been on several 6+ hour trips without stopping. The interior is also very quiet on the highway which is a very big plus. I think the price is a bit high, but it slots in under an Acura MDX which has a nicer dash appearance.

Riding the open road going to Vegas. When you first buy a car thats the way to make the vehicle stand up for its name. That is exactly what my family and I did! You forget about the stress and discomfort of the agonizing and ferocious pavement. This vehicle glides, unbelievable reaction and response on the uneven highways. "Fun- tastic!"

Purchased a Murano SE 2 weeks ago and Edmunds.com helped so much in our research...thank you! First made a list of what we needed, the plushness of the Murano was a plus. Graduating from a van we test drove (that I recall) Pilot, CRV, Rav, and Pathfinder and inspected many others. Focused on the Pilot then we drove the Murano and fell in love with fully loaded SE (didnt want DVD or GIS). Pricing (asked to see dealers invoice), mpg, safety & smooth/solid ride of this dream contributed to our purchase decision. Its smooth rounded exterior is a pleasure to run a shammy over, no crevices for grit to settle in.

  • Cant believe I waited this long - 2006 Nissan Murano

I worked for Nissan from 03-05, and during that time owned a 04 Maxima SE with all the bells and whistles. Drove the Murano back then and fell in love, just had to wait till my lease was up, boy am I happy. Picked up a SL AWD, with touring package, all I can say is WOW. I’m a huge fan of the styling, amazed with the color display and reverse camera (didn’t know it had it till I picked it up). The ride is great; gas mileage so far is nearly identical to my maxima. And the Lumbar is so much better then the maxima. I’m still in the industry, working for a Cadillac dealer, so I get the chance to see and drive a lot of vehicles. Muranos the best!!

  • This SUV is One-Hot-Rod! - 2003 Nissan Murano

This car is a blast! I wasnt really seriously looking for a car when I stopped into my local dealer, just browsing.... The salesman suggested I take if for a spin. THAT WAS IT! It was like no other vehicle I have driven. I knew it was as good as sold if I could just get my husband to take it for a test drive. He did, and was sold!!!!
