Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I fell in love with the murano when I sure them being driven on the street. The murano has such a slick style to it. I love driving my car and just being in it. The interior is subtle and comfortable. My merlot nissan murano is just a gorgeous car. Also the murano is not a gas guzzler.

  • Designed for short term fun, BEWARE of Maintenance cost - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

I will be brief. This vehicle is fun to drive no doubt. Once you get in for a test drive, you will buy this vehicle cos its so much fun to drive. The bad news is the cost of maintenance. You will spend a lot of time repairing this vehicle. Once it leaves the repair shop, do not ride this vehicle unless you are trying to know if the problems has been repaired or you are taking a new buyer on a test drive. Fail to heed my warning and you will fall in love with this vehicle again. Its like a woman you love, but you cant stand her naughty behavior. Buyers be warned. Stay away from her unless you have deep pockets. issues i have suffered: Wheel bearings (front right and back left), diffe

  • Bought this for my wife, she loves it! - 2006 Nissan Murano

My wife is in love with this car. I got this for her as a surprise and did not go wrong. I am jealous because I drive a Montana mini-van. The Murano is the best car I have ever owned and a fantastic value. CVT is a smooth driving experience. I am 62 and love the leg and hip room.

  • Looked them all over - this is the one - 2003 Nissan Murano
    By -

My wife and I have tried many 2003 SUVs and cars - from the GMC Envoy, to the Infinity G35, from the Bonneville to the Cadillac CTV, from the Jeep Legend to the Toyota Highlander. True, were not "off roaders" and we like our creature comforts. By far, the Murano SL with Leather and Premium packages and Traction control, was the best ride, the best feel of quality, and the best overall match of "THE vehicle" we wanted. Not to mention it looks great. Highly recommended. And contrary to some other posters views on economics, we consider even MSRP list as cheap for this vehicle. Thanks Nissan! We love it.

  • Suprised - 2006 Nissan Murano

First I got this for $26,800 w/o license and fees. Its a 2wd SL with only standard options. It is an easy vehicle to drive. Lots of standard features youd expect to pay for like back up camera and dual zone heating etc. It came with a 7" LCD screen too! I am very suprised about all the technical stuff you get standard. It is a very smooth ride compared to like a 4Runner which was my previous car. As you accelerate, the powerful V6 gets you going and then smoothly settles into a lower RPM I cant wait until this CVT gets into other models. Its quite phenominal. I am also getting over 20 mpg in this SUV. The rear seats fold down much easier than a 4Runner and way easier than my Benz ML320

Ive had a good experience although I thought the materials used in the interior were of much better quality...

  • An Acceptable Vehicle - 2009 Nissan Murano

Overall, this is a fine vehicle that has, in my opinion, two design faults. The navigation screen needs to face the driver more and be more protected from the sun as on the 09 Maxima. The navigation screen is almost worthless when the sun is at certain angles. The second fault is with the dual moon roof which is also on the 09 Maxima equipped with the premium package. With no moon roof wind deflector presently available, this vehicle is, with out a doubt, the noisiest vehicle I have ever owned or had the opportunity to ride in my 60+ years. (My moon roof comment only applies to models equipped with a dual moon roof.) I have contacted Nissan about the problem, but that was a waste of time.

  • Mixed bag - 2003 Nissan Murano

Fun to drive, but be sure you test drive it on rough roads with open windows. Interior quality is poor; I have persistent rattles that cant be fixed and had to have the entire center console replaced. My gas mileage is horrendous...about 25% less than advertised. Styling does turn heads. I hope the short warranty doesnt indicate what I think it might after my experience so far.

  • Excellent Vehicle and Great Price Too - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

Our new Murano is just an all around great vehicle. This vehicle was purchased for my wife. She drives approximately sixty miles a day and we live in the country. She sometimes has to work late hours and is on the expressway late at night, both winter and summer. From what I have observed so far, this vehicle gets far better mileage than her 2003 Santa Fe which we traded in. This car is loaded, rides great, is fun to drive and I think has all safety features available in a vehicle. We purchased chrome wheels, (extra) but they really set the looks of this vehicle off. For the money, this vehicle beats Lexus hands down. For the money, our Santa Fe was good but this Murano is great!! We love it.
