Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • An SUV with Personality! - 2003 Nissan Murano

Finally an SUV that drives like a performance car! Cornering and overall handling are great. Plenty of power, expecially from a roll. Could be a little better fron a dead stop but its a tradeoff for the CVT transmission which is a great feature. Gas mileage is great for a 245 Hp engine (Im averaging 20.5 MPG) This is the best SUV Ive driven.

Ive put almost 2100 miles on it already, and I love it! The transmission is smooth, the engine is quiet or powerful. The handling is incredible, including in adverse weather. Eye-catching exterior design. I really enjoy the interior styling, the aluminum accents the charcoal nicely. Filled with lots of technology for the price.

  • Best Cross-Over SUV On The Market - 2003 Nissan Murano

It has head-turning good looks ... all positive I might add. The interior is spacious, extremely functional, well- constructed, and has a awesome high- tech ambiance. And the seats ... well they are about the best Ive seen. Very, very comfortable. As for the mechancials ... it takes a llittle while to get accusotmed to the CVT tranny but it is sooooooooooooo smooth. And its clearly evident that there are 245 ponies under the hold pulling their own ... this things flat- out screams. I think the Jan article in a major car magazine called it the "Z of SUVs" ... and that is soooooooooooo true.

  • More then an SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

We had just purchased our AWD SL Murano during the Presidents Day Weekend. That Monday we picked it up and my wife used it that evening to go to work. We had a relatively large snow storm. It was the vehicles first test for us. We owned an Explorer prior to getting the Murano, so we expected a certain amount of AWD performance. When my wife arrived home that evening from work, she was just elated how well it handled in the snow. She said it cut through the unplowed streets like butter. The ride is so car- like versus the ride we had in the explorer. We love, not to mention the head turns we get when we drive it around.

  • Awesome!!! - 2003 Nissan Murano

Picked up my Sheer Silver Murano SL AWD in May... and its AWESOME! After testing driving and extensive research, I decided to trade in my 2001 Pathfinder for it. CVT 245 hp engine is quick and smooth (and quiet). Exterior design is sweet and interior is roomy. People have complained about "turbulence" when moon roof or backwindows only are open, but they have been misinformed. Dealer explained that the moonroof has a setting which addresses turbulence and as for opening only the back windows causing this, it also happens on other cars. Test drive one and youll be hooked (plus, the fact that reviewers compare it to the BMW X5 at a $30K price). Nissan as another winner!

I think you get what you pay for here...nice vehicle...cross shopped the RX330 and went with the Murano and pocketed the $10K difference.

Acceleration is smooth & effortless. It accelerates & revs with the amount of pressure you put on the pedal with no annoying shifts. Interior is very spacious and comfortable. The leather seats are buttery smooth, soft and cushy, yet enough firmness to prevent fatigue. The rear bottom seat cushions travel forward & back with the reclining of the seats for increased back passenger comfort. The look...impressive! When it drives down the road, it looks like art in motion. Ride & handling are smooth & quiet while also being precise & accurate. Fuel economy, first tank, 20.1mpg (Canadian) 16.7mpg(US Gallon)city.

My new nissan murano is more than expected! I chose this new vehilce over the lexus rx300 and the mercedes ml320. It is truly in the luxury class. The salesperson was so adamant about test driving it and once I drove it, everything he said about it was absolutely correct. Nissan has out done themselves with the Murano!

  • So content its ridiculous! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I must say that I am truly satisfied with my Murano. The comfort that comes with this vehicle is simple amazing. Nissan has outdone themselves with this baby; no joke, foreal! I traded in my 2001 Prelude Type SH, my favorite car of all-time, but for some reason, I havent looked back. I would recommend this truck big-time!
