Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • I Dare You To Find a Better Deal! - 2009 Nissan Murano

I had no intentions of replacing my ‘04, paid-for, Murano with an ’09. But, curiosity got to me, so I went to the dealership & drove one. Within minutes, I was buying. The previous Murano was fantastic – a well-built, great looking SUV with plenty of neat features for a reasonable cost. The ’09 improves on virtually every aspect of the previous version: better build, more power, way more features – for less! For looks, I like this one better now, but all-in- all, the first gen was better looking for its time. If you’re considering a Murano: a) drive it, b) ask others who own one, c) do a comparison. This vehicle truly holds its own when compared to vehicles costing $10K more,

  • Absolute rattlebox- dont buy! - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

I traded in a 4Runner for my Murano just over a year ago and wish I hadnt! It didnt take long for the Murano to develop rattles. Seems like as soon as I figure out one rattle, another one starts. It has a very rough ride and it makes the rattles that much worse. The car does look nice and has some nice features, but those are the only positive things I can say about it. I was hoping for great gas mileage, but it has been a big disappointment. I get 19-20 mpg on the highway. My husband recently purchased a 2004 4Runner with a V6 for himself and so far, it gets better gas mileage, has a much smoother ride and has way more room. Do not buy a 2006 model!

THE ONLY THING I WOULD ADD IS A HANDLE ABOVE THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I GOT SPOILED ON PREVIOUS SUV HOLDLING ONTO THE HANDLE. ROOFRACK NEEDS TO BE AVAILABLE AS AN ADD ON LATER. BODY SIDE MOULDING WOULD BE A PLUS. THIS SUV IS DEFINITELY A HEAD TURNER. I HAVE HAD A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, TOYOTA HIGHLANDER AND NISSIAN HAS PASSED THEM BOTH ON INTERIOR, QUIETNESS AND STYLE.

Several features we like but the bouncy ride is very bad. Didnt drive enough prior to purchasing as certified used with 39m. CVT transmission is great as is the powerful 3.6l engine. The awd is good as is the dash controls. But again the ride is awful actually at highway speeds 65 to 70 can be dangerous when over bumps dut to bounce to right. If in left hand curve with bumps watchout! A definite dont buy ride is important.

Very happy - nice ride - lots of saftey features ex. Side curtain air bags - awd is nice because you only put in awd when you want - saves on gas when it is off - smooth ride - comfort is nice both for kids and parents

I feel good driving down the road in my new murano. It looks nice, feels good, and drives beautifully. I have waited ten years for a new car and could not have picked a better one.

I love my murano. Its the most awesome car i have ever had. For someone who doesnt really like to drive, I look forward to getting in her everyday! The ride is smooth and quiet. The acceleration is awesome. She isnt too big on the outside but she is huge on the inside. The Murano is ahead of its time in looks. Modern sleek, interesting and stylish.

im fairly new with this velicle but it seems to be a nice ride, very comfortable seating, nice head room/leg room, all round comfort interior... exterior sharp suv. I have many suvs this rides totally differnt then one io must say like a cross between a luxury car/ride and a smooth suv...so far no big complaints

After doing months of research, I finally took the plunge and bought a fully loaded Murano. I have enjoyed it immensely. It has a responsive engine with quick acceleration. After driving an Explorer for the past 10 years, there is no comparison. Unlike the Explorer, the Murano doesnt drive like a truck, instead it feels like a luxury vehicle. My only complaint would be the mileage isnt what I would have hoped it would be. Only hurts right now with premium gas prices thru the roof.

  • Excellent Crossover! - 2012 Nissan Murano
    By -

After driving several Crossovers like a Buick Enclave, GMC Terrain and a few others we drove this and loved it. It has a great response and handling and the interior is well put together, fun and sophisticated. It has a lot of technology built in it and it is all user friendly too. Strong engine and we look forward to having a lot of fun in it for a long time
