Overview & Reviews
For 2005, the Murano receives a rollover sensor for the side curtain airbags, and a new S model with fewer features and a lower price. New options packages and an Intelligent Key entry and ignition system are newly available.
- Sharp handling, strong standard engine, comfortable and practical interior.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat.

Very Nice - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Enjoyable - October 4 - 11:40 pmI bought this car before I went off to college. I am 64 265 and play D-1 football. This car fit me and 3 D-1 players in the back seat with ease. Great head and leg room. You can tilt the backseats back to make it very roomy. Drove it to Miami and Notre Dame from NJ. Gas is hurting me. I drive super slow and get about 17/19. AWD with Automatic. Interior is great. All kinds of different compartments between the seats make it like a mini office desk. Plenty of room on the dash board which is rare. Room in the hatch for an extra person. Driver seat bolt broke one time and I got it repaired. Biggest knock is the gas for me. Such a smooth and pleasant ride. Best midsized SUV out there!

My Little Gas Guzzler - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Vicki - September 25 - 6:50 amAs you can tell, I love the vehicle. The day after I purchased it, gas went up thirty cents a gallon and now even more after Hurricane Katrina. If my crystal ball had been out of the shop, I probably would have purchased a vehicle that gets more than the 15.4 mpg I am getting in the city.

Great all around car - 2005 Nissan Murano
By FRANK - September 17 - 5:00 amMy wife wanted the car, I was not sure about the radical exterior styling at first. Now I love the car as much as she does. Great handling, very roomy, especially the rear seats. Just came back from a 1,200 round trip each way from New York to Iowa, very comfortable; were in the car for two days over 12 hours per day, no problems at all!

By stacyleenolan - August 28 - 6:30 amLove my Murano. It is smooth riding and I feel secure in it. The gas economy is much better than my last car a Nissan Pathfinder. The Murano is so stylish and comfy inside. I absolutely love it even though Ive only had it for few weeks I recommend it already!

Classy Funmobile - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Diane K. Sutliff - August 25 - 3:30 amEasy in, easy out, sitting higher than a car. Spacious interior, well designed. Seats lay down for extra space. Good for my work. Gas mileage;better than other SUVs. Handles like a dream..feel like Im in a subway car with no shifting of gears. So smooth. Pickup? Not like some, but very adequate for my needs. Exterior; not rugged looking like some SUVs, but a little more of a ladies SUV. In 5 mo.,the only negative has been some poor reception on the radio. Perhaps need a new antenna. Husband has long legs; fits him perfect. Petals are retractable. I feel dressed up when driving it. I like that. I like the classy wheels. Good all around visibility;thats important. Try my funmobile...

Drove a BMW 3, bought the Nissan - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Pam - August 10 - 10:16 pmBMW wouldnt take my trade, a lovely, shiny, well kept 2 wheel drive Ford with only 48K miles. They didnt have a good selection on the lot either. Looked at Nissan web site then searched dealer inventory and they had exactly what I wanted. Cabernet leather is lovely! Drove it up Emigration CAnyon and it performed much better than the BMW and I saved thousands.

Loved it until the fifth year - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Lori - July 27 - 3:40 pmI loved this car until the fifth year. The driver side seat broke and muffler system, and now steering column. It is starting to cost money but it still looks brand new.

GOT WIFE OUT OF SPORTS CAR - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Dandy D - June 28 - 11:36 amWife loves and has driven sports cars ie Corvettes, Eclipse GST, Mustang for years. Moved into the Mountains of Colorado which requires a 4WD. She made the switch to the Murano and admits "I love this car". Good combination of sports car handling, comfort, style, and getting up the mountain in the snow.
