Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I like the handling, comfort, speed, roominess, vision and intimidation factor. It gets RESPECT. Also, I feel safe driving it.

The Nissan Murano is a luxury vehicle not an Suv. It is a pleasure to drive and a fun vehicle.

Its a gem. Im totally pleased and excited by it. I worried about it being a Nissan, but their quality has definitely improved. Its performance and comfort are comparable to the RX and a better deal. And I cant say how much more appealing it is, design wise, than any of its class competitors.

For the money you get a hell of an SUV. I wish they made it stick shift. Still dont like the CVT tranni.

  • Fast, comfortable, great handling! - 2007 Nissan Murano

My Murano replaced a 1999 Chevy Blazer and is a superior vehicle in design and amenities. Space is used more efficiently, there is more storage, seats are more comfortable with more rear seat room and the rear seats recline. Quietest car Ive ever owned! Im a sports car driver and like manual trannies, but the CVT is a hit with me. It engine-brakes at in-town speeds, reducing braking. The CVT applies the V6s ample power beautifully - I can be at 80 by the time I hit the end of freeway entrance ramps. Handling is tight and responsive and vastly superior to most crossovers. Although the turning circle is no smaller than the Blazers, its much more fun to drive. Great vehicle!

  • Fun to drive - 2004 Nissan Murano

27,000 miles in about one year and for the most part a good experience. It is nimble and fun to drive with gas milage a little better than I hoped for. One breakdown at 26000 (alternator went out) but was fully covered by warranty.

  • Bought used, drives like new - 2016 Nissan Murano

I did a great deal of research before buying my 2011 Murano LE. It had almost 40k miles on it, but it was in showroom condition, and after 14 months, still is. It is the most comfortable SUV Ive driven, by far, and the interior is that of a much more expensive brand. The CVT transmission is terrific, with no jerks or pauses at all, and the power is exactly what I wanted with the 6 cyl engine. I know the 4s are better than in the past, but still not enough power for me on the highway. The cargo area is quite roomy, particularly with the 2nd row seats folded down, and the rear leg room is much better than similar sized vehicles. I cannot say enough about the comfort of the front seats. I would recommend purchase of either the LE or Platinum version of the Murano, because it truly is a luxury car at a reasonable price. My only regret is that this otherwise perfect Murano was not equipped with the Navigation feature. Other than that, it was exactly the vehicle I was looking for, down to the exterior and interior colors. If I ever purchase another SUV, it will likely be a Murano, as additional features have been added in years subsequent to the 2011.

  • Garbage - 2007 Nissan Murano

Purchased the Murano in August of 07. Several things have gone bad on this vehicle: ate up the tires fairly quickly, ignition switch had to be replaced along with a different key, motor mount broke, battery when out and had to replace the cvt boot. I take good care of my vehicles. At first this vehicle was great but after a while things started to fall apart, so much for reliability! I had to pay $1700 + out of pocket to replace the motor mount. Called Nissan customer service and told them bad engineering. Motor mounts should not just break-part is made up of plastic rubber and metal-go figure. Should be a recall on this. Needless to say I wont get my money back for this major flaw.

  • Best Vehicle Yet - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

This is the best vehicle, yet, including being the 4th Nissan in our home over the years. With each day, I love The CVT feature more and more , as well as how the Murano senses and grabs whatever kind of surface its on, the right way....Also the best brakes ever- great gas mileage..smooth ride yet secure feeling...All kinds of classy features and spoilers...Lighting is unbelievable and the styling is just pretty...Leather feels great..Bose system sounds really good...Adjustable pedals, heated seats,,Exit set back, etc.
