Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

We just baught the maurano. Its everything that we wanted. Lots of head and leg room. And so very comfortable. The style is very unique and not of the ordinary blend of vehicles that you see on the road today. We love different! Its a 50,000 dollar car for only in the 30,000 range. Excellent value for the buck. Go for it you will like it.

  • Great Crossover SUV by Nissan, A+ - 2003 Nissan Murano

I traded in my 2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE which was a great ride and my new 2003 Z Car for this new Murano. It offers me a single vehicle that has great looks and design coupled with fun to drive performance and comfort in an AWD vehicle. All this plus a vehicle that gets outstanding fuel economy and great room for passengers and the luggage. Nissan and Infiniti are doing a great job coming out with innovative performance products that are exciting to drive.

So far, We have driven it for 3 weeks and we love it. It handles like a real car; yet it is powerfull and fuel efficient. The stereo system is great, and the most stripped model comes with cd and sattellite ready stereo.

  • A concept car you can own now !!! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I traded in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee . The Jeep was a fine car. The Murano is poetry in motion. It handles well the transmission is super and has excellent passing power. I went from 5.5 to 20.6 MPG on my first long trip. The seating is supportive and very comfortable for my 6 4" body. The car is a change from every other car out there. You have to test drive the car to see how well it is put together. My hats off to Nissan.

  • Nice Ride - 2005 Nissan Murano

I think that the Murano is one of the best cars around right now. They have so many features and being a college student, it isnt that expensive on gas (i live in Alabama). Nav system, DVD entertainment package, Bose, heated seats and the list goes on!!

  • Most Uncomfortable - 2010 Nissan Murano

Warning... drive this for a day or two before buying. I traded in a Ford Edge on fully loaded LE, and this was the biggest mistake I have ever made. No matter what position the power seats were in, it was just not comfortable for me. Hurt my upper-back so bad thought I was going to need traction. Ford Edge is a much nicer crossover all around. I am only 60" tall and 200 lbs, so I dont think it should be a size issue. Everything else about this car is very nice but if you skimp on the seat the other is just fluff. I have already traded it and chalking this one up to a very expensive learning experience! Try before you buy!!!

  • So far - a happy buyer - 2010 Nissan Murano

1700 miles in and 5 weeks of ownership. First the bad: Terrible burning/hot smell for first thousand miles - now gone. Throttle hesitation on low level initial acceleration. (Supposedly by design)Tough to see the corners of the vehicle - getting used to this - and the back up camera is a useful feature. The good - stylish, comfortable, 23mpg, more useful storage than my former RX330. Love the sunroof, the leather.

  • A bit bouncy - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

After months of careful research and test driving other vehicles, I finally decided on the Murano. While the vehicle has so many great qualities, including a fantastic interior, comfortable seats, and great ergonomics, I wish I had taken a bit more of an extensive test drive in the vehicle I took home. While the vehicle isolates road "bumps" my particular example has this sort of undulating bouncy character to it which is especially noticeable on surface streets. It is smoothed out somewhat at speed on the freeway but is still noticeable. Anyway, it is a bit annoying to say the least and definitely is detracting from the excitement that should come with a new care. Take a long test drive!
