Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Vehicle has preformed very well, the engine is strong and I like the CVT transmission. Below about 40 mph, it seems to go into some type of free wheeling and I find myself having to brake harder then I antisipated.

  • Great SUV - 2004 Nissan Murano

I waited one thousand miles before my review. I am happy to report the Murano is all I hoped it would be. There are a few odd little things like windshield wipers that cant be lifted for cleaning unless you stop them in mid stream. But this is nit picky stuff. The vehicle looks and rides in spectacular fashion. No rattles, no problems and gas milage unlike any SUV. Good safety features with ABS and side curtain airbags and security system. The easy entry and exit from front and rear seems well thought out with plenty of legroom to boot. The 245 HP engine and the smooth CVT tranny make this a powerful and fun SUV to drive.

  • Unexpected Pleasure - 2009 Nissan Murano

Recently stepped away from my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder with great fear. My lease was up and needed to step into an SUV with good style and better gas mileage. My only logical choice was the Nissan Murano. My problem was that it is much smaller compared to the Pathfinder but boy was I surprised. I love this SUV. Great handling, impressive power, and head turning good looks. I chose the Black on Black colors by the way. My only wish is that the Murano was the size of an Acura MDX. Otherwise it is an excellent vehicle. Oh... bumping up the horsepower to match an Infiniti FX35 would not hurt either. Im sure car lovers would appreciate the extra power. I know I would.

I love my car but think that all models should be sold with a sunroof and roof rails. Otherwise, the car is excellent.

  • Replacement for Lexus ES 350 - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

Following back surgery, I needed to replace my beloved Lexus ES 350 and I finally decided on the 09 Murano. I was leaning towards the Lexus RX 350 but after spending some time with the Murano, I couldnt justify paying an extra $8k - $10k. This was my first Nissan and for a non-luxury brand, Ive been very impressed with the car. The build quality is great and the ride is very smooth. The interior is well crafted and very quiet. With the possible exception of the grill, the exterior styling is very handsome, as well. If youre in the market for a crossover/mid-sized SUV (luxury brand or otherwise), the Murano should be near the top of your list.

  • NICE car - Well worth the $$ - 2004 Nissan Murano

I truly enjoy this car. Stylish, comfortable and has a very large cargo area.

  • Love At First Sight! - 2009 Nissan Murano

My parents car recently died, so I gave them my 2008 RX350. The Murano was aesthetically pleasing externally (a head turner) and with the 2009 internal upgrades it was hard to find any disqualifying features (save the orange display). Check it out yourself!

  • Great Fun and Goes through the Snow - 2005 Nissan Murano
    By -

I traded a Jeep Grand Cherokee for my Murano after a lot of research. I could not be happier. I live in serious snow country (300" a year) and put a lot of miles on my car in the summer. I blasted through 12" of snow on my way home. No problem. The car handles great and gets plenty of looks. Pickup in any situation is very good. Very comfortable and quiet riding. My wife thinks it looks like her old Gremlin. I wish I had bought the full feature version with all the fun stuff. This is a great car.

My husband and I both love this car. Best purchase weve ever made. I highly recommend. Rides like a luxury car with the convenience of a SUV. Overall great car.
