Overview & Reviews
SE models now include a manual-shift mode for the CVT, and satellite radio pre-wiring is standard on all models. The standard driver seat now features 10-way power adjustment.
- Excellent handling, comfortable and practical interior, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat, gets pricey with options.

My Wifes car - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Steven E. Helsel - September 22 - 2:00 amThe Murano is really a sports car in disguise and is fun to drive and all the people that have never seen one up close will stop and ask about it and want to know all about it. The only thing that my wife has found wrong is that with all the bells and whistles is that there is no way to open the hatch from the drivers seat.

A 10! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By bebe20017 - September 22 - 2:00 amMy experience with the Murano has been of superior quality. It responds very well on the road, very stong engine, beautiful interiors, a very ultra modern design, top of the line accessories, includes a bose radio system! That is great. For the proce, nissan could have added a complimentary oil change and some other features, but overall, my rating is a 10!...murano is the car of my dreams.

Just Right - 2004 Nissan Murano
By The Roof Is On Fire - September 12 - 10:00 amBeing a new dad and having to park in an under-home garage, needed to find vehicle with clearance, easy access for kids, carlike ride and appealing style.CVT transmission takes getting used to,but 245HP under the hood goes when you need it to. Initial acceleration from a stop is not earth shattering by any means but it will get up and go when you ask it to.Interior is classy. I also feel very safe when Im driving this vehicle with side curtain airbags.Overall,I am thrilled with this vehicle and if you can afford it,its a great buy in my opinion. Test drive one and youll know what I mean.

Great Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Antonio Stephens - September 12 - 10:00 amI purchased my Murano 10/18/03 after driving a Mazda Millenia since 1997. The vehicle immediately caught my eye and once I drove it and experienced the CVT transmission and 245 hp; I knew it would be my next vehicle. I wanted the Infiniti FX but it exceeded my price range. The toughest decision was the color, which I decided on Deep Bordeaux with the latte leather, and chrome wheels. Its an attractive car, responds well, and equipped with AWD, it moves with little effort up the snowy hill I live on.

Avoid High Mileage Used Muranos - 2004 Nissan Murano
By moneypitowner - August 18 - 2:56 amLove the design and functionality of the Murano. Had Nissan and Infinity before and very reliable and economical to maintain. I put 200K on my earlier Nissans and they ran great. Not the case with Murano. I bought the Murano with 80K on it. Owner babied it and Murano maintained by dealer, all receipts. At 115K. CVT went bad. $4500 repair. Head gasket bad at 121k. Another $4500 repair. Numerous reports of transfer case failures as well as exhaust system repairs. Very expensive repairs. Recent problems with head gaskets on newer models also reported. Get extended warranties if you keep the car past dealer warranty period. Dont buy a first generation used Murano.

murano 2004 - 2004 Nissan Murano
By markk - August 11 - 2:00 amVery nice car (SUV), there is a noice on the driver seat that I hate and there are not any solucions at this time. I will recommend this car if you like a SUVs, there is no reason to buy another expensive SUV like BMW or Volvo.

AWESOME - 2004 Nissan Murano
By knotything - July 31 - 10:00 amHandles as well as my 3 series BMW. I tried out Pacific (under-powered) and the X5 and found the the Murano compared well against it for alot less. The new transmission creates the best driving experience. Gas mileage is OK, but who cares after you get behind the wheel. Awesome in snow and rain with great steering and tracking. Blew away a Jeep CJs and Cherokees in a snow storm. Gets more attention than the PT Cruiser did 2 years ago. Nissan did a lousy job advertising this car and the AUTO INDUSTRY MAGAZINES spent too much time on the Infinity. In 2003 the Murano was a far better designed car. My son talked me into trying it. THANKS SON
