Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

  • A notch (+) above the rest - 2006 Nissan Murano

If you are looking for something above the rest. Something FUN to drive and very High Tech, take a close look at the Murano SL. Good to fair MPG considering its a SUV. Some of the options are amazing. So far, I couldnt be happier.

This SUV was the last of my test drives and I purchased it the same day. I got lots of interior space for 4-5 people, love the cockpit driver area with big dash board and over-abundance of added optional equipment. I went for "fully-loaded" with no regrets. Right away I was impressed with the quickness of acceleration and handling. Its a nice quite ride and the front dash is well centered and balanced with features. I have had no real issues and would repurchase a month later this same SUV. I find its cute to look at, easy to park and fun to drive. The gas mileage is accurate and now I just need to plan a trip to the mountains to fully appreciate this vehicle.

  • Could have been great - 2004 Nissan Murano

The Murano is a very good vehicle, unfortunately it could have been a great vehicle. Very poor interior design, the dash instrumentation is some kind of cream, off yellow color. It should have been a brilliant white. The Bose stereo is very hard to use, too many button to look at while driving, very confusing and not all that great of sound quality. Performance is outstanding, fuel mileage is acceptable. The roof rack is a joke, no cross bars came with the vehicle, Nissan wants to sell them to you separately!! Very cheap of them I think!

  • Great Car/Bad Service - 2009 Nissan Murano

I love this car, I was one of the first people to buy the new Murano at my dealership when it came out. The only problem Ive had with it is the front cap is loose, and the dealer is having trouble fixing it. I love the comfort, we have done a lot of traveling, the car already has 28,000 miles on it, and not one complaint. Just wish I could get the service dept to do their job.

The variable transmission takes getting used to, but the SUV rides amoothly. It handles well and if its like the 10 yr. old Maxima I traded in, it will do just fine.

I like this car so much that I had to get another one,,, even after having a 04 model with transmission trouble and front wheel bearing trouble, I understood that that was just the new model problem. Even though my 04 was a good car, this one is even better,,,

Ive had 3 Maximas, an Altima, a 300ZX, a Datsun 240Z and a Sentra, so Im a true Nissan customer. I wanted an AWD Maxima but none offered yet and I wasn’t going to an Acura. I tried the LE and fell in love. 2,000 miles later, I’m still very happy. The driver’s door open button stopped working, but I’ll have that addressed on my first maintenance visit. I’m very happy with the vehicle and I get a lot of compliments on its looks.

I wont change this car for a fully loaded, most expensive high end car!

  • So far, so good! - 2003 Nissan Murano

We ordered a Murano last Thanksgiving and got it earlier this year. It was worth the wait. Its a nice balance between utility, performance, and style. Has the utility to haul kids and dogs, performance to make you smile and style thatll have folks asking you about it. I havent taken the car to its limits yet, but for everyday driving its great. One thing Ive noticed is that to get optimum performance from the CVT you have to be pretty generous on the accel pedal. I.e. punch it if you wanna go fast.

  • Great Mid-Size SUV Choice - 2003 Nissan Murano

We recently purchased the Murano after trading our 1996 Pathfinder LE. We spent twenty minutes in the showroom climbing all over the vehicle, looking at features and comparing it to the Pathfinder. This was enough to get us on the road where I was able to get it close to 80 MPH. We were impressed by the low road noise that we had come to despise in the PF. While we wanted three rows of seats, we were satisfied with the larger rear seats over the PF. I was also very impressed with the luxury quality of the controls. It has a distinctive look that reminds me of days of muscle cars. We have lost count of how many strangers stop us to ask about the vehicle.
