This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • Thrilled with Murano! - 2003 Nissan Murano

We checked every comparable suv including Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Lexus RX330, and Acura MDX. The Murano provides the most value and performance for the money. We get stares and questions about it everywhere we go. Performance has been great and wet-weather handling is outstanding! Cant wait for winter to see if this continues. No complaints with fit/finish and dealership experience at Classic Nissan has been outstanding too. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

  • Liking my new Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

This Vehical is definetly beautiful, inside and out. 245HP engine and 246 pounds of torque. Stays head-to-head with the luxury class. Smooth CVT and Bose system. NICE! Ride quality is exceptional. Minimal road noise on standard 18s. Extremely Happy!!!

  • If you are thinking of a SUV/Van - 2003 Nissan Murano

I needed a bigger car that is more versitile than a sedan. I have a child with plans for at least another and need more trunk/room. The Nissan Murano drove like a Maxima SUV, very car like with the versatility of a SUV / Van for space and storage. The gas mileage is equivalant to that of a van. It is Japanese, with one of the best V6 engines. I looked at a few vans and the only ones worth considering were japanese and were roughly the same price as the Murano. I think for the price and all the features you get standard if you are looking for a sedan / SUV / Van the Murano has something to offer everyone!

  • Prons & Cons - 2003 Nissan Murano

Great handling and smooth ride. Fuel efficiency is best in class with 21 MPG in highway at 75 MPH (probably better at lower speeds). CVT transmission is a definitely plus. Great stability in all types of surfaces, very comfortable and quiet ride.

Im loving the Murano so far...got an SL with Leather, Cold, and Premium packages, plus sunroof. This car has some amazing technological features and incredible comfort, plus enough headroom for my 64" body, even with the sunroof. Its as tall as my Quest minivan, as long as my Maxima, and has all the best attributes of both.

  • Dump the vans, try a Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

Two days old today, and we cant stop driving this Murano. Dealership did a good job, we stressed over buying a Pilot or Murano, and went for the available (better) vehicle. When is Honda going to learn?

  • Probably the best vehicle out there - 2003 Nissan Murano

I would never have bought an suv but the transmission, the ride & vehicle itself made me fall in love instantly. I have never questioned nissans reliability & more than anything just the strong but gentle feel of the vehicle made me weak to my knees. I would definately recommend this vehicle to any car & suv buyer as the best out there & im proud of myself as i saved 15000$ as i nearly bought a Lexus 330 till someone drove up in that dealership with the murano. call it destiny call it love at first sight but dont forget to wave when you see my pewter murano cruising down the road & it says i love my nissan

  • 6.5 great years with my MO - 2003 Nissan Murano

This SUV was a 1st year model, so yes there were a couple of issues. The alternator recall, the rocking chair fixed under warranty and the flopping sun visor coming just this year. The CVT performed flawlessly and the only other items done were battery, tires, wiper blades & oil changes. All things considered, this was a blast to own & drive for 85k miles over 6.5 trouble free years. The styling was cutting edge in 03, it was very sporty for an SUV and it fit me, 63" 290lbs with ease. It could also hold my 3 boys in the back seat and 2 of them are 6+ foot. The cargo room was amazing, I have got many a admiring comment at Lowes.

  • for cash spent this is it. - 2003 Nissan Murano

its a fun drive, safe, fast, great interior layout.bags of room in back for people and their stuff. perfomance and the abilty to stop faster than anything in its price range. drive it against the competion and see for yourself. it;s also extreemly stable on the rd. the balance of the car is exceptional for an suv. my other car is a Jag which has low centre of gravity and so having beenm acoustomed to that many suv;s were plain "boaty" in their drive. all the fun of a car in an suv and much more...
