Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I have had this car for going on 9 years, I have had to change the struts, CV Boots leaked, the transmission blew up (TWICE), (Thank God It was still under warranty) The drivers side window motor doesnt work and I cant afford to have it replaced yet. Because the Dealers are too damn expensive. The front head lamp lenses are too foggy (AGAIN Too expensive to replace). There were at least two other major problems on this SUV, I cant remember what they were right now., But Yes, I will truly look at other makes and models next time I go looking for another car. Everything interior was mostly good, however, the mechanics of the vehicle have NOT been reliable to me. It has cost me too much to have, and I will be looking other places for sure!

Outstanding performance. This vehicle spoils the driver. I received a number of compliments at the gas station and feel like a salesman showing it off. I have owned (6) Nissan Maximas since 1987 and 1 Nissan Murano. Nissan is a quality build vehicle and very reliable. The reliability and styles of Nissan keeps your attention.

  • Nissan Murano is a "9.9" - 2004 Nissan Murano

In addition to being extremely functional, with the fold-down rear seats the Murano is an excellent cross between a much-fun-to-drive sedan and a handy cargo carrier. Very comfortable seating, which is important to me because my wife has severe scoliosis; when we look at a new car, the first thing shes interested in is the comfort level of the seats. If its not comfortable for her twisted back, forget it!!! We look elsewhere. BTW, she has a 92 Maxima which we got new from the same dealer and she loves it. Ive found no faults in either car and will not-doubt buy another when the time comes. And, oh yeah, the service from our dealership is AAA.

The Murano handles like the old large body Audis and has that same heavy, stuck to the ground feel when cornering. Compared to the Jeep Grand Cherokee, my last vehicle, this SUV has a roomier interior and seemingly wider interior. It outperforms the Jeep V8 with the 3.5L high performance engine and has more horsepower than my 94 Jeep with the V8. Much improved gas mileage of about 18 around town to 23 on the highway. Leather seats are some of the best Ive seen in an SUV for comfort and the back seats tilt back, which is a nice feature. The Bose stereo with CD is impressivel with multiple speakers and subwoofer. The vehicle has great visibility with virtually no visible hood.

  • Love It!! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I had my eye on the Murano for some time. I read numerous reviews and overall thought it to be a good value. I had to go a couple years older becuase Nissan tends to hold their value and an 03 worked best for my price range. Any car I have ever purchased in teh past, I had a twinge of "buyers remorse" - not this time. I have to say I am very pleased with this vehicle.

  • Murano is one the thebest - 2009 Nissan Murano

Very well made. Features not available yet on suvs costing 10k more, integrated priority Bluetooth for 5 drivers, color rear camera, power remote tailgate dual sun roof. Real iPod connection with playlists on the screen, push button remote start, XM sat with nav traffic, power up and down rear seats. Ambient lighting, nice interior. (Ill stop but theres more), plus it s quiet and solid driving.

  • MAXIMA IN DISGUISE - 2003 Nissan Murano

MY 2002 GLE MAXIMA AND THIS CAR BOTH DRIVE QUIETLY, AND SMOOTH. THE ACCELERATION IS VERY NICE FOR AN SUV. WE DROVE THE JEEP LIBERTY 4x4, EXTERRA 4x4, AND A FEW OTHERS, NONE COMPARED TO THIS VEHICLE.

  • This car is a sleeper! - 2004 Nissan Murano

I find this to be the very best car I ever purchased. A head turner. Exceleration is awesome. I went in to nissan to buy the new 2004 maxima, but after test driving the murano i was hooked. My wife and I are extreemly please with this vehicle. It has all the functions of a SUV but the ride of a smooth luxury car and then can fly like a high perfomace raodster.

  • Great alternative to the standard SUV - 2004 Nissan Murano

Overall styling is refreshing when compared to other SUVs. Great fuel economy with good performance. The CVT drives well, but takes some getting use to as you dont "feel" the gears shifting. The interior and exterior has a wonderful fit and finish.
