Overview & Reviews
Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.
- Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

A Crossover Doesnt Get Any Better! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Letmegotoyou - July 18 - 2:00 amThere is not one thing I would change on this vehicle. I just wished I had gotten the AWD, but it wasnt available in the color I wanted when I went to the dealership. I buy a new vehicle every 2 years and I did thorough research and test drove 4 different SUVS, and clearly made the right decision and I say that 14,000 miles later.

What More Do You Want? - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Janalina - June 29 - 2:00 amNo one who owns this vehicle would give it less than an eight on a scale of one to ten. Compared to others in its class the design and technology of the Murano surpasses them all. Nissan has done their research and designed a reliable "crossover" vehicle for those of us who enjoy spending time in the outdoors, not driving all over it. The ride and handling of the SL is great -- like a car. Mileage has been at about 20 around town and about 24 highway. Not bad for such a roomy, powerful and solidly built vehicle. TEST DRIVE THE MURANO, then BUY IT! Yeah it isnt cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Refined fun - 2003 Nissan Murano
By kewllewk - June 29 - 2:00 amHow can you compare this vehicle to anything else? Well you cant! Nothing even comes close to what the Murano offers. If you love driving cars or spend a lot of time driving, then the Murano is a top choice. I compared over 20 different vehicles from Audis to Volvos including 4 door wagons, sedans and SUVs (sorry no vans!). Nothing will give you a better all around package that will satisfy 99% of your wants and needs for the way the average vehicle is used 99% of the time. Great looks, space, performance, exceptional comfort and fantastic design with amazing attention to detail. Take a look and be prepared to be surprised.

Super Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By cohesco - June 23 - 10:00 amHaving loved my X-terra, I need something more businesslike. Not wanting to purchase a car, I jumped on edmunds and found the Murano. One test drive is all it took and I knew I had found the perfect vehicle. Part car, part SUV. Its a perfect mix!

The Perfec "Dog Owner" car! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Dog Owner - June 23 - 10:00 amIve had my eye on the Murano since before it was evben released. I was looking for a car that had the room of an SUV, the performance of a sports sedan, and the comfort of a luxury sedan....and it had to be dog friendly (for my 80lb. lab mix). I found all of that, and more, in the Murano. Go test drive every SUV out there....then drive the Murano. My bet is that youll buy the Murano. Ive owned a 00 Maxima SE and a 98 I30....the Muron drives better than both of them.

Great Auto - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Revd Dave - May 12 - 10:00 amThis is a "homerun" of a vehicle! Strong power, great stereo system, nav system very precise, seats very comfortable, easy to program and drive. Ive driven a BMW 740iL for the last 3 years and while I do miss the power of 8 cylinders, this "machine" is great. The BMW X5 would have cost me nearly $12,000 more and I would have still had manual transmission at that! Way to go, Nissan!

GLACIER PEARL MURANO - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Nancy Bolin - May 6 - 10:00 amMy check engine light came on after a short time after I purchased my vehicle. I carried it back to dealership to have it checked and to have my oil changed and tires rotated being it had approximately 5500 miles on it. I was told it was my gas cap not being put on correctly and I was surprised that I was charged $72. to check my engine light on this new vehicle. Since that time my light has continued to come on and I carried it back and they said if there wasnt something mechanically wrong with my vehicle, I would have to pay to have it checked again. Needless to say, I wasnt going to pay to have it checked again. My light is still coming on!

Never Thought I Would Own An SUV!!! - 2003 Nissan Murano
By LBBB - April 4 - 2:00 amIn all my life, I never thought I would own an SUV. Whwn I first saw The BMW X, I thought well maybe it is possible to meld the best of the car/ suv worlds but not at that price! Then I see the Murano at the Auto Show in NYC and I dont tell my wife that this Murano seems very different. God ,have I lost my mind???? Well four weeks into ownership, I have to tell you this vehicle is amazing! I think it outperforms my 2000 Maxima in acceleration. It handles well in all aspects. It lloks like a vehicle nobody would ever buils so hats off to nissan!!!

Murano is awesome - 2003 Nissan Murano
By koo_guy12 - March 30 - 10:00 amNissan Murano is real fun to drive, very easy to handle, gives better gas milage. It offers many luxury features at much lesser price than the competition. Its CVT engine is cool and powerful. The back seats have more leg room, and five passengers can fit into the car very comfortably. Nissan has made good use of the interior and cargo space. Programmable memory seat and adjustable power pedals are kool and simple to use.
