Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

heavy accelerator, mirror controls are a stretch, doors are very tinny, uses to much gas for a 6 cylinder, needs more space in the rear hatch area. console does not offer much space. Heavy thumping noise when the front window are open and youre driving above 35MPH. Suspension is to hard in the rear seated area

  • Dont buy a 2004 Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano

At 72,000 miles the transfer case cracked, a $4,100 repair. I agree with user nutmeg a vehicle this expensive should not have a $4,100 repair before $100,000 miles. Nissan customer service is terrible, very condescending and useless. I WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN! This is the second lemon from Nissan I have purchased, Im done. Nissan even issued a technical service bulletin regarding how to fix the transfer case and it is w/ 2005 specifications. They should have issued a recall. Nissan is in the business of selling cars but not building customer relationships. This will eventually catch up with them. Repeat customers are what keeps companies in business.

  • So far, so good - 2003 Nissan Murano

Just picked up the car. After driving 500 miles in 3 days I am very impressed. Comfortable and a lot of little details make this car very convenient. Love how the seats fold, the navigation works and seems very solid.

  • A FANTASTIC SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano

I carefully researched Toyota Highlander, Santa Fe, and Honda Pilot. It came down to Highlander or Murano. Murano won hands down in terms of style, ride, fuel economy, and what you get for your money. Then there was the cost. Murano is not cheap, but Executive Nissan provided me with the best car-buying experiences I have ever had: I was treated with respect and got a great deal. Toyota refused to deal on the Highlander and wanted too much money. This is a gorgeous and outstanding vehicle and it drives like a dream! I love it.

  • I should have purchased the platinum - 2016 Nissan Murano

I enjoy the SL version, however, I regret not purchasing the platinum.

  • Not your mothers Nissan... - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

I say this because my own mother has a 1994 Maxima which hasnt had near the amount of problems that my 2004 Murano has had. Power seat died once, visor stopped staying up, and I have been to the dealer 3 times to fix a rattle in the door, an issue which has a service bulletin out for it. And yet, they have been unable to fix it. Loved the vehicle when I first bought it, but have started to hate it!

  • Update at 19k from 4/20/10 - 2010 Nissan Murano
    By -

Update from 4/20/10. Have read all of the reviews of this vehicle and they overwhelming positive. The "negatives" I feel are minor, especially the wind noise of the moon roof, open the front windows a crack and it helps a lot. I sometimes drive 450 miles in a day and I have never had more comfortable seats. Ive owned SRX, Audi, Subaru, Mitsubishi and a Maxima over the last 10 years. No car is perfect and I was able to get a heck of a deal on mine. The only thing is that the day after I bought it, 3/31 at 9:30 pm the next day went to 0%. I was a bit annoyed at that, felt dealership should have been honest, said they didnt know, but I think they do know.

  • Murano Rocks! - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

Tight, solid vehicle. I bought the Sunlit Copper model and there isnt a day that goes by that someone doesnt stop me and ask what it is or compliment me on how it looks! I LOVE THIS SUV! Bose stereo is the icing on the cake! Rides like a dream and handles better than most cars Ive had or driven, which are many. BMW X5 was my first choice, but for the money, I would buy a Murano any day!

  • Murano is marvelous - 2010 Nissan Murano
    By -

Ive owned an Acura MDX which cost about $5,000 more than my well appointed Murano and must say the Murano is more impressive. I test drove many nameplates in the Murano class with the same result: The rest failed to measure up to Muranos standards in terms of overall quality, features, looks and performance. The Murano is not a cheap car by any means but it is the standard for others to be judged by and by my experiences the others are in need of playing catchup.

  • My 6th Nissan - Best Yet!! - 2004 Nissan Murano
    By -

My murano has the quality that I had gotten use to in Nissans and think they had gotten away from in the late 90s. Nice to see the quality back! You do have to get use to the transmission......Its different! Not a bad thing...Just Different!!
