This Year's Model Updates:

Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.

Pros:
  • Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
Cons:
  • No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

  • Very happy with my purchase - 2003 Nissan Murano

I test-drove virtually all SUVs in the Muranos price range and theur is literally nothing that comes close to its handling, performance and looks. Has many of the benefits of the SUV in a much more driveable package. And personally, I think that the styling is both radical and beautiful. Its one of the prettiest vehicles on the road today and makes every other SUV look like a big box on wheels. Only downside is the ride can be a bit harsh on bad roads. It transmits road problems much the way a sports car does. The Murano gets more than its share of complements from stragers

  • 5000 Miles and very few problems - 2003 Nissan Murano

I purchased my Murano in Jan of this year, and have really enjoyed driving it, not to mention all of the looks from others who are trying to figure out what it is... I keep discovering new things that didnt quite register with me when they went over it at sale time. The Murano has great pickup when accelerating, you dont feel the downshifts with the CVT, and for a family of four, it is quite comfortable. The appearance of the cargo area is deceiving, it is quite large but doesnt look like it until you open the rear hatch.

  • Loving the Murano - 2003 Nissan Murano

I have had no problems with the vehicle thus far. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my highway gas mileage was better than expected (sometimes over 26 mpg), but my city mileage in stop and go traffic runs about 14 mpg. That is really my only complaint, other than the cargo net which is virtually impossible to figure out. It is great in the snow without even putting snow tires on, and stops on a dime on ice. The heated leather seats are much worth the money, as is the generously sized sunroof. The Xenon headlights are phenomenal.

I have had it only for about two weeks but its great. Im looking for any reason to get out and drive it. I also purchased the navigation system which is really pretty slick. Its has hotels, atms, airports and hundred of other preprogramed points of interest. The car ride is really nice. Only complaint I have is that the XM radio option that is advertised is not yet available.

  • Love The MO - 2003 Nissan Murano

An admitted Nissan devotee, the Murano has exceeded my expectations in all regards. As can be seen at freshalloy.com and nissanmurano.org, most new owners are extremely pleased and excited about the MO. The CVT coupled with the hp make for an outstanding level of performance for a vehicle of this type. With only a couple of minor exceptions (eg. sun visors), both the build quality and quality of materials appear to be typically Nissan -- excellent. If youre unsure about whether or not the exterior styling is "in" or not, just check out the photos of the new BMW X3. If that isnt a copy of the MO, I dont know what is.

  • This is a BAAAAD beast! - 2003 Nissan Murano

I bought my Murano after more research and consideration than should be legal. I drove them ALL (Infiniti FX and QX4, Lexus,Pathfinder and Rover to name only a few). This car is HOT. The comfort level is awesome (had a Lincoln Mark VIII) and Im as happy with it as can be. Everything is high quality, from my black leather seats to the adjustable pedals and memory seating. This puppy MOVES, and a Sunday drive through windy roads with the sunroof open is equal to nothing I can think of.

  • Awesome machine - 2003 Nissan Murano

My fiancee and I just bought the vehicle three weeks ago. We absolutely love it. It has plenty of room for us and a kid. The power on it is more than enough. The transmission is probably the best feature as it makes the vehicle ride smoothe.

  • A pleasure to own - 2003 Nissan Murano

Bought it a week ago fully loaded. Really stylish and a joy to drive. Love the navigation system and all the features it has. Getting 25 mpg hwy and 18 local. Not bad for a vehicle this size and weight. Roomy and comfortable too.

  • Nissan hits the nail on the head - 2003 Nissan Murano

My Murano rides like a sports car and gets 19-20 mpg. Besides gawking drivers when I first bought it, now fellow Murano drivers give a heads up signal. Former Infinity and future Infinity owner-but love this car!
